More Q&A from Mugglenet reviewers

Sep 10, 2008 09:25

Thanks so much to Kristin, who was part of the Q&A for the podcast for Mugglenet, for now posting a few more Q&As HERE.

But...for the H/G highlights...

Question: Did Dan/Bonnie work well as a couple? I always thought he looked considerably older than she did. Was that an issue?

They did - they actually have really good chemistry. It's a little awkward, a little sweet, and it just kind of feels... right. She's grown up enough that it doesn't seem strange.

Question: Was there the whole argument between Ron and Ginny about Ron having the experience of a twelve year old? Was the whole thing with Dean even IN the movie?

NO, the argument wasn't there (it was kind of a running theme - Ron being not angry but squicked by Ginny's relationship with Dean), but YES, the relationship with Dean was there, and there was Ginny/Dean snogging.

Question: Does the attack on The Burrow scene a bit lame or does it work?

*blush* I thought it was a little lame and corny, but there was a great scene right before that with Tonks, Remus, Arthur, and Harry discussing Snape's loyalty, and then it transitions to a great scene with Harry and Ginny and then Ron, Harry, and Ginny, so I was on enough of a "high" that the corniness didn't bother me too much. Still, I wouldn't fuss too much if they decided to cut some of that to maybe include something else in some other part of the movie. =)

Question: someone on leaky said that they didn't feel the chemistry between rupert and emma, or dan and bonnie, but rather, they really felt chemistry between dan and emma. do you agree, and if so, does it take away from ron/hr's relationship? the shippy moments are what i'm lookking forward to the most, and i'd hate to think they aren't believable.

I thought the shippy moments were awesome. The scene where Hermione's alone in the classroom, crying over Ron and Lavender and practicing with the birds, is actually probably my favorite scene in the movie. Harry walks in an is talking to her and then Ron and Lavender walk in and it's just really PERFECT tension. I got the "best friend" vibe from Harry and Hermione - but being a girl whose best friend is a guy, I understand that vibe perfectly. Maybe if that's not an experience you've had, you wouldn't get the same thing from it. But the whole "ship" subplot was well-represented... Lavender completely rocked my socks, and Hermione is an appropriately jealous "friend".

Likewise, I thought the chemistry between Harry and Ginny was just really good. I mentioned before that what's so exceptional about it is that it's just a little bit awkward - like, "we've known each other since we were kids and you're my best mate's sister and once I saved your life but I'd really like to kiss you," kind of awkward, which was cool because it was a dynamic that I don't think we got enough of in the book. I'm not a H/G shipper myself and still, I found myself on the edge of my seat going, 'KISS HER ALREADY!' =)

Question: Dan acting in the final scene, around Dumbledore body. Can we see tears in your eyes? Thanks so much!

Hm... I couldn't really see through the big alligator-tears in MY eyes whether or not he was crying... I WILL clear up, though, that that's NOT the "final scene". I've seen people say that in a couple of places. The final scene in the cut that we saw is just the trio talking about plans for the future, after Dumbledore's death. All in all, though, the lest fifteen minutes or so of the cut that we saw were really, really emotional, and really well-acted. =)
