Dramatic adventure as library does not burn down!!!
Yes there was a fire alarm in the library, and no I was not flicking matches at the time (not till I am finished). So there was no fire or smoke for that matter, so seeing as there was no smoke the latter would probably have been predictable. Oh well!! I am surprisingly happy the place did not burn down due to leaving my dissertation notes in the building when said alarm rang.
I love the way the staff were the first out the door, and in fact seem reluctant to inform students that it was the fire alarm, I guess if you had to deal with us lot day in day out you’d feel the same. Students logging off computers; some just ignoring the fact the bell was sounding, seemed vaguely amusing to me. I know it is no laughing matter but still I could not help but laugh at the student who was happily sitting there, being told to leave, who seemed not to care.
No fire… this time.
