There was still a few hours before the dawn and Henry’s heart pumped ferociously as he walked the streets he had come to know so well. Thoughts of Mike and Vicki ran rampant through his head the craving stinging at his tongue and aching in his veins.
Longing, anger and frustration awoke his hunger, reminding him of what he really was. He had let himself forget. His nature is not to love - his nature was not to need and that was exactly what was happening. He was beginning to need them, first Vicki and now Mike.
He had touched the flesh of both of them, tasted the blood that pumped through their veins…that was all he was meant to do. How could any of them possibly think it could be more than that including him. Henry gritted his teeth as his pace quickened heading straight for the park.
He could hear the arrogant drunken voices, smell the sweat soaking through their jackets, the filth on their bodies, the alcohol mixed with their blood. This would be so decadent, every nerve in his body was electric and alive.
He cut through the hedges and down a small embankment that led through a tiny patch of trees. He could see the orange glow of the fire burning in the barrel not far in the distance, their voices becoming louder and scent becoming stronger as his mouth beginning to water. There was two of them, passing a bottle back and forth between them, laughing about the old woman they had mugged earlier, the money in her purse was the prize that paid for the alcohol they had consumed tonight, all fifty dollars worth.
Their words blended together, their laughter, as well as their heartbeats, a cacophony in his ears as he approached. He stood only a few feet from them the glow of the fire just barely dancing upon his skin as he watched. All senses were focused, the hunger waiting to be eased, his instincts had completely taken over. It was not long before one noticed his presence.
“Ah shit.” One grumbled when he finally noticed someone standing just on the edge of the shadows, watching. The males dark brown eyes flashed as he wiped his mouth with the filthy sleeve of his jacket. His eyes remained fixed on Henry as he handed off the bottle to the one next to him. A greasy blonde snatched it quickly from the others hand and greedily slugged before turning to see what the other could be so focused on. Slowly the greasy haired blonde turned his head narrowing his blue blood shot eyes as he glanced at Henry over his shoulder.
“What are ya lost?” he snickered turning his head and attention back to the bottle. The dark brown eyed one sniggered at the others remark but kept his eyes directly on Henry.
“Didn’t your mama ever tell you not to wander around at night?” Quickly he snatched the bottle from the blondes hand, pulling it to his own lips as he stared Henry down. Henry kept a tight smile as he sauntered a few steps forward, the orange glow of the fire in the barrel completely illuminating his face allowing the two of them to get a better look. The dark eyed one brought the bottle down slowly, his eyes becoming wide.
“What are ya deaf?” The blond laughed over his shoulder, almost loosing his balance as he did.
Swiftly, before the other could blink, Henry was behind the blond, his arm sliding around his waist. “No.” he whispered calmly in the blondes ear as he spun the male completely around to face him. The blondes body tensed, his blood shot blue eyes widened as he stared into the pitch black eyes and the protruding canines of the creature before him.
“J- Je - Jesus!” the blond male stuttered the stench of alcohol hitting Henry square in the face as he took a handful of the blonds greasy hair and pulled the males head back, exposing the flesh of his neck, Henry’s focused right on the pulsating vein underneath the skin. Within a heartbeat Henry had sunk his fangs into the males neck, the brown eyed one watching in horror unable to move, his body trembling, the hand holding the bottle shaking uncontrollably.
Henry licked the wound with his tongue before letting the body slide from his arms and to the ground.
“Wh- w- what the hell?” the brown eyed one stuttered, letting go of the bottle in his hand. Swiftly Henry moved grabbing the bottle before it hit the ground scooping the male in his arms.
“Didn’t your mamma ever teach you not to steal?” Henry spat in the males face, turning him as he sank his fangs into the males throat, lightly tossing the bottle into the flames, his vision blurring as he followed the sparks that floated from the fire into the night sky.
The blood flowed thick and sweet into his veins, the male breathing softly, the tension completely gone from his body. Soon the night would be over and Henry would leave these two side by side, with only a vague memory of what may go bump or walk the streets in the night

~Chapter 14 - The Following Night
Mike felt more than unease as he entered the elevator and firmly pressed the buttons that would take him to the fourteenth floor. Leaning back against the elevator wall Mike thought back to the first night he had made up his mind to confront Henry and ended up confronting his own desire. The whole time Mike had told himself to turn around, to not take another step, but the desire had pushed him on, it was undeniable beyond reasoning, not only did it need to be fulfilled, it demanded. The intense pleasure of Henry’s bare flesh next to his, the electric heat of Henry’s lips pressed against his and…
A sinuous grin turned at the corners of Mikes mouth as the recollection intensified the heat in his pants. Tonight would be different though he could feel it in his bones. Sighing heavily, he shoved his hands deep into his pockets as he stepped out of the elevator and headed for Henry’s door.
Three quick loud knocks and then a fourth. Out of habit he began to count - 1, 2, 3, if no one had answered by 5 he would start pressing the bell. After a few seconds of hushed voices behind the door, it finally swung half open and Mike was caught off guard by who greeted him.
“Hey.” Tony offered a quick smile but nothing more.
Mike glared at the boy for a moment, feeling the flush of anger rise in his cheeks. “Is…Henry here?”
“Uh…yeah .” Tony’s face went sullen as he glanced quickly behind the half opened door. “Come on in.”
Tony swung the door open wide stepping aside allowing Mike to enter. Annoyed with the boys presence Mike turned a shoulder to the boy as he crossed over the threshold .Immediately his eyes fell to the suitcases just before the living room. Quickly Mike scanned the room for Henry who was at his desk, busy or pretending to be busy. Mike choose the latter as he walked to the desk, Henry not even acknowledging him with a glance or a smile.
“I thought this was to be a private conversation?” Mike grumbled under his breath.
“It is.” Henry said flatly, flipping through some papers then placing them back on the desk.
“It is?” Mike huffed looking back at Tony who was trying way too hard to act like he wasn‘t listening or the least bit interested, sitting on the couch thumbing blindly through a magazine. “Doesn‘t appear that way“ Mike growled his eyes flashing back to Henry.
Henry kept his eyes on the papers, flipping through a few, placing them back light on the desk, he shifted his eyes to Mike. Once again Mike felt the heat throughout his body as their eyes connected, the electric sensation coursing through him and he swore he saw the same desire in Henry’s eyes.
“Yes, Mike - it is.” Henry said firm and quick, pulling his eyes from Mikes.
“ Well we don‘t exactly seem to be alone” Mike pointed at the male sitting on the couch. “And what is with the suitcases? Someone coming or…going?”
Henry sighed, grabbing a folder and placing some papers in it, quickly he snatched a few pencils placing them back in the holder, then switched off the desk lamp. “You ask a lot of questions, Mike” Henry said softly coming around the desk He did not even glance at Mike as he made his way to the living room.
“Yeah, tell me something I don’t know.” Mike said under his breath following him.
Tony peeked through the strands of loose hair covering his eyes as Henry came in. This guy Henry called Mike, Mike the cop was still glaring at him and Tony could feel the queasy feeling grow in his stomach. He wished he wasn’t here, cops made him nervous, especially this one.
“Perhaps right now would be a good time to go and do that errand we spoke of earlier, hm Tony?” Henry said softly gazing down at him. Tony nodded slowly placing the magazine on the coffee table.
“Sure thing. ” Tony glancing at Mike as he pulled on his coat. “Everything alright?”
Henry smiled, placing a hand aside his face, his eyes warm, a tender smile turning at the corners of his mouth. Mike rolled his eyes at the scene. What the hell is going on? He thought to himself dropping his hands from his pockets, pulling the jacket aside and placing his hands on his hips.
“Yes..” Henry nodded reassuring Tony.
“Alright.” Tony said heading for the door. Henry followed behind and quickly opened the door for him. Closing the door, Henry turned to see Mike glaring at him, the anger and frustration written all over his face. “Private.” he said motioning for Mike to come into the living room, Mike moved slowly, his eyes right on Henry.
“Who the hell is that?” he asked shoving his hands deep into his pants pockets. Henry raised a brow standing before him.
“You wanted privacy, now you have it.”
Mike shook his head, glancing at the suitcases again. Something was up and he didn’t like it. “What’s with the suitcases? Someone, coming…leaving….moving out…moving in?”
Henry smiled softly. “I am leaving.”
Mikes jaw dropped, “What?”
“I have some business and….other things that need attending.” Henry said nonchalantly offering a small smile.
“Is he the thing that needs attending?” Mike sneered.
“You ask a lot of questions, Mike.” Henry huffed.
“Yeah, You said that already - so sue me.” Mike grumbled. “How about this question - Henry - What about Vicki? Does she know your leaving?”
Henry sighed, he knew this would not go over well. “No. I don‘t need to ask anyone’s permission. ”
“No…” Mike chuckled fighting the frustration and anger building in him. “No you don’t.” Roughly Mike pushed his fingers through his curls pulling it back from his forehead. He was stunned, This he had not expected, not at all.
“Do you intend to…or,” he stopped himself the muscle in his jaw tightening. “Did you intend to sneak off in the night. Slip away with this kid? Jesus Henry did you even plan on…” The words fell away from Mikes lips. The reality hit him, Henry was leaving, All the guilt he had felt for wanting Fitzroy slipped away and all he could think of was grabbing Henry and pulling him to him, pressing his mouth firmly to his. Henry’s kept his lips tight but he could feel the burn of a smile trying to slink across his lips, the scent of Mikes blood and arousal wafted around him.
“Yes Mike.” Henry stood moving toward him. Instantly Mike tensed, ready to pull away at the slightest touch. “I did intend to tell you. I think it is for the best now. Some distance between us.” Henry laid his hand on Mikes but Mike didn’t pull away instead he let the heat of Fitzroy’s touch tingle through him, allowing himself to feel the ache in his body for more.
“How can you decide what is best?” Mike asked in a tender whisper, softly laying his hand atop of Henry’s pulling him closer to him until their lips were only inches away. The fire was instant between them, Mike feeling the firm swell in his pants as Henry pressed closer.
“Mike what about you and Vicki?” Henry asked softly. “I can not be the reason for it ending.”
“Henry that ended long ago so you wouldn‘t be.” Mike kissed Henry lightly on the lips.
“Yes I would be.” Henry said softly. Mike chuckled as his hands fell on Henry’s hips.
“ I don’t think you know Vicki as well as you think you do.”
“I may not have known her for as long as you but…Mike please.” Henry’s desire was growing as Mike continued kissing him light on the lips, on the cheek, moving to his neck the heat of Celluci’s breath sweet torture on his flesh.
“Stay, Henry…” Mike whispered pressing his firmness against Henry’s thigh his hand slipping round to Henry’s ass, giving him a squeeze as he pulled Fitzroy to him.
“I wish it were that simple.” Henry tried to stifle the moan as Mike rubbed his thigh against him, the heat and scent of desire threatening to overcome him.
“It is that simple…” Mike pressed his lips to Henry’s, Henry instantly responding sliding his tongue against Mikes as he wrapped his arms tightly around him.

“Jesus you are quiet, Tony.” Vicki studied him as the elevator rose to the fourteenth floor. Tony flashed a quick nervous smile. He was uncomfortable, that was easy enough to tell and Vicki could feel in her gut that something was about to go down.
“Is Henry ok?” This was the third time she had asked him and she knew that the reassuring nod would soon follow and sure enough Tony nodded shoving his hands deep in his pockets, averting his eyes from hers. Not like Tony at all, to keep his eyes shifted to where she couldn’t read them but that was alright his body language all the way over here and now in the confines of the elevator, leaning against the wall, his shoulders slightly turned form her, spoke volumes.
“You’re not going to tell me what this is about are you Tony?” she sighed.
“I am just doing Henry a favor, that’s all. He asked me to bring you here and that is what I am doing. I am just as in the dark as you Victory.” Tony shrugged. “I don’t know, there is some guy here named…” Tony paused for a moment. “ Sells..Callooki…Sallucy…”
“Celluci?” Vicki asked quickly.
Tony eyes brightened falling directly on hers for the first time tonight as he snapped his fingers then pointed at her. “That’s it - yeah, Celluci.”
“What the hell is here doing here?” Vicki snapped her stomach suddenly tightening in anxious knots.
Again Tony shrugged. “I don’t know.” The bell alerted them, chiming they were now on the fourteenth floor. Tony stepped out into the hall.
“I guess I am about to find out.” Vicki sighed following behind him.
