There's a mist hanging in the air that looks like stretched out cotton balls, yet the birds are still chirping. Life continues to move quickly.
And my family thinks Wisconsin gets humid.
This has been an odd week. It's like I'm working at summer school but in reality I'm just hanging out doing large group tutoring. I've had all these ideas for my future bubbling out of my head... applying for the Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study and getting to spend my time for two years thinking about how people read, and then getting a certificate to be a Reading Specialist. I'm surprised about how excited I am about it, but really it's what I love most about my job, teaching people how to read. The program won't start until January of 2011, but that's only a year and a half away. Now I just need to take a few courses and file the paperwork for my professional licensure. It's weird to be excited about going to school again, but maybe I just needed time off and the space to think about applying to a program that I really want to do. Besides it's all-day Saturday courses every other week, which even with potential children will be doable.
It's nice having a goal again. I rather needed one.
