Crazy in Wisconsin

A 30-year-old Plover woman who was talking on a cell phone and driving without pants before she crashed in the town of Port Edwards in May was sentenced today to one year in jail for drunken driving.
Jessica L. Jackson, 30, Plover, had her pants hanging out the window of her pickup truck to dry when her vehicle drifted into the highway shoulder, and she overcorrected, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department. The pickup, which had been traveling east on Highway 54 just before 8:40 a.m. May 31 crossed the centerline, entered the ditch and rolled.

Jackson was on her way to pick up her children at the time of the crash, according to the criminal complaint. She had a blood-alcohol concentration of about 0.18 percent.
In addition to the jail sentence, Wood County Circuit Court Judge Greg Potter also revoked Jackson’s driver’s license for 36 months, fined her $3,018 and ordered her to undergo an alcohol assessment and attend a victim impact panel for fifth-offense drunken driving.
