ye who threatens to breach the walls
of this city set apart for greater things

desist, vile beast

depart, by powers greater than I
my gate is closed to your army
my shield is raised to your sword
my eye is cold to your false smile

by what grace has been given me,
thou art mine eternal enemy,
as you were my Father's
I train daily to bring about your defeat
and I train with strength that is not my own
but beyond me

you laugh to hide the raw fear
that creeps into your voice
when you see the band on my arm
when you know I am my mother's

and I laugh back, deceiver
and I raise my sword
and I set my feet

and not of my own accord do I stand
for if it were me, I would run
but it is no longer me myself who lives
and it becomes less of me as days pass

you know no hope
your strength is in strength
and mine in weakness
and I am very weak

so desist, despair
you will try and fail
the hand of the Almighty One is with me
the hand of the Almighty One is against you
