8th grade speech :)

Ohhh, those were the good times. Well, my computer doesn't have much memory left and I have to delete a lot of stuff. In the midst of doing so, I found this baby. I wanted to post it up before I deleted it. so, here goes.

As this eighth grade year comes to an end, I recall all my years at St. PaulSchool. From all of the six years I’ve attended this school, I learned so much in so little time and made many breathtaking memories I’ll cherish forever. I remember being about seven years old, watching the eighth graders at the time walk past me, down the aisle of St. PaulChurch, reaching the altar to receive their diploma. I watched them and wondered when it would be my time to walk down the aisle, and graduate form this school. I became displeased, knowing that it would take forever until I was in eighth grade. Year after year, I envied them, for their time had come. Nevertheless, class of 2008, this is our time.

When I first arrived at this school, I was going into the third grade. At first, I was nervous, thinking that no one would like me for me. However, all of that changed when I met my teacher, Ms. Hawthorne. She made me feel so welcome, treating me with such love and kindness. Ms. Hawthorne taught me many things, but the one thing I remember the most was the golden rule. Treat others the way you want to treated. Ever since then, I tried my best to use that rule, the golden rule, in my everyday life. That lesson changed my lifestyle; it made me realize that I should think of others before myself. I would like to thank her for doing so.

The following year, I moved on to fourth grade. That was my second year at St. PaulSchool. That year, like the last one, I learned new things and made more memories. That year, Ms. Sandoval was our teacher. She taught us many things in a very creative, original way. She was always so artsy. Because of that, Ms. Sandoval brought out the creativity in each and every one of us. I would like to thank her for bringing out that trait in me.

The year after that, I moved on to the fifth grade. That was my third year at St. PaulSchool. During that school year, the Class of 2008, our class, had Mrs. McAdams. Like Ms, Sandoval, she taught us in a very unique way. She made our year fun by assigning us different projects, such as the ABC state report. Mrs. Mac also taught our class about the seven holy sacraments, which were a very important aspect of our religion and life. She also taught us about puberty and how all of us are slowly maturing each and every day. So for that, I would like to thank her.

The next school year, I went up a grade with the rest of the class; the sixth grade. That was my fourth year attending this school. For that year, we had Mrs. Brill as our teacher. She made that year so fun and exciting. In sixth grade, we learned so many enjoyable things, such as roller coaster physics and mythology. During that school year, Mrs. Brill taught us that school is not always boring like every kid expects it to be. Attending school can be amusing and learning can be very entertaining if you think about it. She also taught us that sometimes, we don’t always have to be serious. Sometimes, you just have to let is loose. So, I would like to thank her for teaching me those lifelong lessons.

The following year, our class officially entered junior high; seventh grade. It was my fifth year at St. PaulSchool. Like my other years, I made countless memories with my classmates, and learned numerous things. Our teacher for that year was Mrs. Hoadley. Mrs. Hoadley taught us a variety of things. She taught us more about our religion, like what were the meanings behind some of our everyday prayers. She also taught us math and science. Mrs. Hoadley taught us several things, however, the one lesson I remember the most was to respect everything in the world around us. She taught us how to become more eco-friendly, using her skills and lessons she learned from her former work at Caritas Creek. Because of her, I try my best to respect everything around us. So, I would like to thank her for introducing me to the eco-friendly, go green life.

Finally, the next school year arrived; this school year. The Class of 2008’s last year at St. PaulSchool. For this final year, our teacher was, and still is, Mrs. Brill. We were overjoyed to hear that we were becoming her students again. Like our sixth grade year, Mrs. Brill not only taught us literature and creative writing, but, life lessons, as well. This teacher brought us on many field trips, which only brought our class closer. Mrs. Brill brought us to Caritas Creek, in which our class bonded together. After that, we were no longer a class, but, a family. This past school year, Mrs. Brill made us work hard, to help us get ready for high school. She did a magnificent job! Look at the Class of 2008 now! All of us are dolled up for our big moment; our graduation. So, I would like to thank her, once again, for all that she did for our class, my second family.

To the Class of 2008, thank you for allowing me to be part of your family. I would like to let all of know that if you need a place you can run, or if you need a shoulder to cry on, I will be there for you time and time again. If you need someone to lean on, I’ll be there. As we go on, I’ll remember all of the awesome times we’ve had together. As we go our separate ways, as we take a step forward in our lives, I hope we can still be friends forever.

My journey at St. PaulSchool is like a story; each year is a new chapter, a new episode for my story. Each chapter holds the lessons I’ve learned from my teachers, as well as from my friends and classmates. As my journey comes to an end, the story of my childhood will end. However, when I move onto high school, I’ll start another story, with a new beginning. Thank you, S.P.S., for being the main part of my story. Thank you for being the end to my story. Now, I can start a new beginning; the next episode of my life series, the next part of my life; the story that is still unwritten. I will leave this school, proud to be one of your alumni. I’ll always remember and unconditionally love this school until the end of time.
