Lavender is an only child and she is quite glad of it. Growing up, she demanded attention from her doting parents and they treated her just like the princess she wished to be treated as. Nothing was off limits to Lavender, at least, most of the time. As an only child, she was spoiled by her father, who she loved dearly. Her mother was a little more strict on her, hoping to balance her out.
Lavender had more family. Grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins, but none of them really played a large role in her upbringing. They were around for holidays and for the parties which Marissa often held for work, or just to seem sociable when she was bored.
Lavender still talks with her parents, but not nearly as much as she used to. She no longer counts on them to take care of all her problems when they arise and she is trying to strike out on her own. Her parents are still readily available to her though, at all times, if something were to happen.
Other: Lavender is best friends with Parvati Patil and very close with several of the other Gryffindors from her year. She dated Ron Weasley for a while, as well as several others as she was a bit of a flirt back in her school days.
Personality:
Since the end of the war, while only four years ago, Lavender has almost completely changed. While still, a majority of the time, involved in herself, Lavender has become more reserved and quiet. She's not the silly, vapid, boy obsessed girl that she once was. Though she does still have her moments, one cannot change too much from what they used to know. Once the girl who wanted all the attention for herself, Lavender now fears when people stare for too long. And she is a bit apprehensive around new people. She still tends to dwell a little too much on what others think of her and she knows she's not the brightest crayon in the box, but she will not tolerate someone else saying the same of her.
It bothers her now, that once a month, not only will she be experiencing her monthly visitor, she will also be changing into a furry creature of the night, hell bent on brutally mauling others in her path. While she takes the wolfsbane and does what she can before the full moon comes around, Lavender still worries about the things that she is capable of doing. Her biggest fear is hurting or killing someone.
Lavender is now a more toned down version of herself. While she fears all these new things, she tries not to show it as much and hides behind a positive attitude. She still smiles, she still likes boys and gossip and pretty things. She's still obsessed with divination and has learned how to read fortunes and palms really well.
Lavender is a little firecracker. She is strong and resilient and a force to be reckoned with. She is not someone you want to cross as she will fight tooth and nail for what she believes in and the things that are close to her heart. She stands for her causes and likes to be involved in everything. Once a year now, she does something to raise money for Lycanthropy research and still gives time to help orphans of the second war.
Lavender has the habit of biting her bottom lip, almost chewing on it sometimes. She rolls her eyes and sometimes doesn't think before she talks. She falls in love easily and gives silly gifts when she believes that she is. She snores at night (which she will never admit to!) and can't stand the smell of dogs.
History:
It was always said that Lavender came into this world kicking and screaming. She got the attention of every single person on the floor of the hospital she was in. Of course, that was only a family joke, Lavender had been no where near that loud, even if she had screamed like a banshee. She was the pride and joy of her parents, thankfully, since they had decided on no more children after her. They were not looking for an heir to the family name, and after having Lavender, knew what a handful a child could be.
There wasn't much to mention through Lavender's childhood. The first signs of magic, schooling and friends. On her eleventh birthday she received her Hogwarts letter and happily went off to school. She was sorted into Gryffindor, with her best friend Parvati Patil. They spent a majority of their days giggling over cute boys, reading Witch Weekly magazines and spreading rumors. During her 5th year, she joined the DA, after making it known that she hadn't really believed Harry Potter in the first place. She dated Ron Weasley through her sixth year and will still try and convince herself that he broke her heart.
It was her seventh year when things really started to change for her. Everything was different during her seventh year. The school was taken over by Death Eaters and those who believed in Harry Potter were moved into the Room of Requirements to live. Lavender made her presence known there by demanding, and then helping to spell into existance, a restroom with proper plumbing for keeping sanitary. This was very important stuff. For the first time though, while not in the Room of Requirement, Lavender was trying to keep a low profile. Though she was a pureblood, she was part of the DA and a firm believer in the light and in Harry Potter. She also wasn't terribly fond of the idea of that being held against her and being punished with unforgivables all day. She already had enough of the punishments given during the so-called "detentions" that were being given on a nearly daily basis. She wasn't really okay with the unforgivables and other forms of torture that were being used as punishments on the students.
When the Final Battle finally came around, Lavender faught in it to the best of her abilities. It ended for her though, when she fell from one of the school balconies and was immediately attacked by Fenrir Greyback in his werewolf form. She still sports the scars from this brief encounter. She missed the ending of the battle and most of the next month, recovering from her battle wounds. The only time she came around during this time, was the first time she changed. She was put into St. Mungos, given a dose of Wolfsbane and put into solitary. The breaking of all her bones was what woke her up. She passed out again, right after, and the next time she woke up, couldn't remember any of that.
With a replenishing stock of Wolfsbane and the knowledge that even her old Professor Lupin had done it, Lavender has decided she's not going to let this disease hold her back like she knows others have done. She knows that she has to try harder then most people to be accepted by those who don't know her or her story, but she has a strong foundation of friends who support her and give her strength. Since the war, Lavender has faught her way to the things that she wants in life and now has her dream job, writing for and editing Witch Weekly papers. She also has yearly events to raise money for Lycanthropy awareness and research and spends at least one day a week working with orphaned children from the war.

Journal Writing Sample:
According to an article in Witch Weekly this week, the ring finger on our hands is the weakest of all our fingers. Therefore, we should always use that finger to pat concealer into place, because it doesn't tug or pull on skin unnecessarily.
Fascinating. Needed some new tricks to covering up the red of a new scar.
I went to the orphanage again yesterday and spent some time with Julie. She is growing up so fast and it breaks my heart that she is still there. If I were allowed, I would adopt her myself. I think, when she is finally taken home... I don't know. She is the perfect child though, going on six this September. Rufus is growing strong too. His cold is nearly gone now.
Does anyone know of any new talent I can get in contact with for this years fundraiser? I want to get an early start and book something now. It's going to be fantastic!
Role-Play Writing Sample: (I'm writing from her first conscious change after the war, if that's okay?)
Lavender was terrified. She hadn't thought she could ever be this scared. Ever. She was wrong. Skin prickled with goosebumps and hair practically standing on end at the base of her neck, she was shaking. She could feel the moon rising and gaining control over her, she had felt it ever since she woke up that morning. It was only just a matter of minutes now, maybe an hour or two before the sun set and the moon rose. She didn't know the moon could be so horrifying.
Gathering up a little bag full of things that she would need the next morning, such as makeup, deodorant, perfume, her hairbrush and toothbrush and a change of clothes (she was a vain girl, this stuff was important!), Lavender finally made her way out to the Shrieking Shack. Even after Lupin had left, the house had retained it's fame and the rumors of angry ghosts continued to scare the first years. Still, no one went by, and Lavender realized that she was about to start the rumor mill all over again during the course of this night.
She had taken the wolfsbane the night before, once Romilda had finished making it and now she just had to wait and see if it had any effect. Poking the knot on the Whomping Willow, Lavender went through the hidden entrance that she had been told about and made her way down to the shack. Now she just had to wait.
Lavender was uncertain about all of this. She wanted to stay in the comfort of the castle and she wanted to run at the same time. Staying inside, in this dark and decrepit old house, she just wasn't comfortable with the idea. It was silly, but she knew it was just fear and she knew that she couldn't stay in the school. She also knew that she would be safer in the shack and once she had changed, it wouldn't matter where she was. All that would matter would be the hunger and the need and the fact that she couldn't do anything except stay inside.
