More SXSW action...
ok... so today wasn't as musically filled as yesterday... for some reason.. there was alot of different difficulties... that's ok... bumped into alot of people I haven't seen in awhile...
Started the day late... was supposed to see Hella @ 1pm @ Room 710... but my friend Johnny picked me up late... so we got there in time to miss the whole show... saw a friend from high school... Ricky... talked to him for a bit... saw a couple of members of Octopus Project... talked to them a bit... also drank free Fat Tire...
Then went to a 4pm Peelander-Z at MoJos... that was cool... show was awesome again... but more so... I saw Carrie and Matt Frey there... haven't seen them in forever... but more so... also saw Laura Purdy there... she is visiting from New York...
btw... rode in the back of John's pickup from downtown to MoJos... this was a problem b/c it started to rain hard right after Peelander... but that's ok... worked out better... we managed to catch a dry ride back to downtown in the MYSPACE.COM bus... they gave us free shirts... and free beer... Shiner Light... but beggers can't be choosers...
after that... we end up going to a series of bars and what-not... nothing really cool... caught Household Names play... they rocked...
Then went to some art gallery for free drinks... bands sucked... left...
Went to Red Scoot Inn at 9pm...
Free beer again... and Those Peabodys at 9.30... they rocked... esp. after the previous band... Imperial Battlesnakes almost put me to sleep...
Here's what pisses me off... at Red scoot... 10.20... HELMET... freakin' HELMET!!!! and they sucked... seriously... played all new shit... HELMET!!!
anyways... Dyan and I leave Red Scoot to see a couple more bands at the 21st St. Co-OP... after getting there... nothing special... but I did manage to bump into another old friend... also visiting from New York... Hector Montez..... freakin' HecTOR....
after some chit-chat... Dyan and I went back to my place... and watched Garden State...
end day...
tomorrow... should be eating sushi off some naked chick at The Yuppie Pricks show...
