2 days ago, the bmx community lost a fellow rider.the one with a hawk fitted with dual pegs on the right side whilst having all of it in matt black.

i remember my first time meeting him; at ecp on a sunday.everyone was gatecrashing the park before it was open.it was insane.there were way too many people at the skatepark at that point of time.i didnt really talk to him that much till fasting month.

this year,i spent my ramadhan at the skatepark with a couple of my fellow friends.farhan was one of them.he'll come down with 2 bags, one for rubbish and the other for 'significant' stuff.there'll also be a certain spot where he'll have his stuff at.from afar, we'll hear the blurring noise of his matt black gilera bike scooting across the tarmac and into the skatepark.no doubt that his gilera was one of its own cause it came with a blackmarket badabing! bar and also a key that could initiate the engine.all of us were fascinated by his gilera and this often made us gather around his bike and start being a git by fooling around with it.and there he'll stand, next to the bike with his cheesy grin fitted in with a silver tooth. we didnt call him grillz for nothing.the baggy jeans and new eras, it was the outfit for edwin delarosa.oh yes,his silver tooth again.

this silver tooth gleamed when he smiled.how could we ever forget that.from laser pointers to nasi lemaks, farhan 'grillz' kassim, thanks for all the good times at the skatepark.it was worth getting to know you.i know youre in a good place up there cause you were good to all of us back here. this is not commemoration but this is the life of a friend who was caught in the wrong place and the wrong time.
