I just got back from my cabin yesterday. I had a pretty good
time, just did the same old thing. My mom's friend Sarita and her
husband came over and stayed one night and that was fun (minus the
war-over-breakfast talks. Somehow I don't need to picture a
concentration camp during oatmeal). We watched a lot of movies
(as always), including my two faves - The Trouble With Angels and the
Thomas Crown Affair. Totally different from each other, now that
I really think about it. Mmmm I love them. I didn't watch
Fast & the Furious again, though, as has been the tradition since
Tina was last over there. I did, however, find out that my room
is haunted by ghost rodents. No kidding! I got woken up the
second night there by this "fwup-fwup-fwup-fwup" sound going across the
floorboards of a couple walls. I thought it sounded like a
mouse/chipmunk, but I went back to sleep anyway, only to be woken up by
it again. Hmph. Maybe I'll set up a ghost rodent
trap. Or call in the Scooby-doo gang... The fooseball table
was neglected, sadly, as I was the only one up there not entertaining
people or staining decks. And of course, you can't play by
yourself (well, you could, I suppose, if you were bored enough to watch
the ball roll from one side to the other). Sorry, table, I
promise to bring more people up next time.
I had an ortho appointment today, the first one in a reaaaaaaally long
time. Great news: my permanent retainer broke again.
Wah-hoo. That's the third freakin' time! And it still wasn't my
fault. Anyway, I won't go there. That's not the best part
though (har-de-har) I saw Nick!! No, not the one you're all
thinking of, this Nick is from my elementary school and I haven't seen
him in...4 years? at least. Plus, he's only about 11/12. He
is the cutest and nicest kid I've ever met. Blonde hair and those
blue eyes that make you melt. He came right up to me while I was
sitting there and asked if I was Ashley and friends with Katrina.
I recognized him and instantly knew who he was. He's super
excited for school - 7th grade! How cute is that. I can't
believe he still remembers me seeing as I left when he was in the 2nd
grade (K. and I were in 6th...sounds weird: isn't really. He's
one of those people who could fit in with any age and is so cute that
he does.) That made today a good day.
However
Now I'm bored and want to go do something, but have no car and no
people to do things with. Hmph. And my random show-upper
(Tina lol) is all the way in Minnesota! (or is it still
N.D.....?) I guess I'll just go read some more Huck Finn - chap.
29 baby! - which I'm slowly trudging my way through. Then again,
I also have french, which is kind of fun, but only because you get to
listen to the people on the cd's (which incidentally happen to be
17). Alas, I shall find something.
Au revoir, me hearties!
