White Trash Slut
i wrote this piece about 15 years ago and have left unedited. i am in the process of turning it into a much longer piece and maybe into a performance piece... i'm reading some of the new stuff next friday the 5th...
Sit on water front, watch light reflect off ocean, pierces eyes like shattered glass.
“White trash slut”
Wish for reflection slice through words, head. Cutting sight, sound, smell of trailer called home. Imagine; fire, blazing hot, ripping through soft side paneling reducing ugly green to cinders. Imagine; ocean, bright, pure, rising up to swallow whole. Spitting out wasted, barren as heart must be.
“White trash slut”
Three simple words cause searing rage of fire crawl up spine. Back down pit of stomach, boil molten lava. Bile rising back of throat. Spewing white trash words out into ear. Three simple words echos in mind endlessly.

Walk down halls of school. Watch scorn ripple across faces of people not known. Sit in class. Hear rumors flying around. Giggles for hand me down clothes, fitting tightly across chest, snug in hips.

Wonder about “white trash” when family is color redwood baked in hot sun. Indian blood turned soft, colorless, like milk. Wonder bout “slut” when only people fucked not chosen. Remember “you deserve it slut” nightly visits to room.

Wait in hunger for food which may or may not come. Wait for something to fill gaping hole in heart, soul. Lie in bed for nightly visits. Dream of soft arms, food on table, real house only seen from distances; far, wide, rock slowly on hand.

Dream of vengeance; fast, hard. Like alcohol sliding down parents throats. Drugs writhing in veins. Dream of becoming tree sprite, lying in wait for unfortunate souls.

Feel pain soar through body. Pollen in wind. Bottle gripped tighter. Rage finally soothed in throat. Tequila gliding down. Hunger drown in drunkenness. Falling in void where heart used to be.
