Life and work are continuing on as usual. The weeks are currently blending into each other in a very alarming way, I'm hoping for some noteworthy events to use as some sort of temporal compass

The child-seat exception is, unfortunately, one of the perfectly-reasonable rules that was removed from the game in the Equality and Diversity revision of '03. It is no longer tournament-legal, I'm afraid.
No, the only reasonable response is a parallel shunt to Parsons Green. I don't normally like skimming, especially on a double, but in this instance my hand is forced.
Aw crud, you've already got 4 people. I hate being 5th...
Can I use the Piccadily stopoff to switch in at this point? If not, I'll make a standing move here as a track-change to the next player's move. Should stop people using the Islington shortcut at least.
That is indeed a valid move, one I was hoping wouldn't occur as now I can't shift to Gloucester Road as I had been planning. I'll have to change tactics...
Hmm, I think I'll spend one of my red tokens to establish my first vertical at Piccadily Circus. This should scupper anyone's plans to block me in the triangle!
Eeeesh, bad play Mickey. Why does NO-ONE ever remember the Singh-McKinley gambit? I'll move to Charing Cross, and I'll voluntarily take a fish token, to put you in Sting. Get out of that one!
Well you've certainly stopped me getting the cross, and being in Sting does limit my options. Fortunately you've left me an escape route. I can switch colours and move to Oxford Circus. With this I've got both the ciruses, breaking Sting and limiting the circle line to anticlockwise only.

You just took a fish when he had a vertical line. That pulls him along with you for a go.

Perfect. As it's after 4 and before 5, I'm playing Rush Hour on Nick. That stops you and Micky while I pedestrian to Victoria for the shuttle service.

Good luck with that shuttle, Alan. The Monopoly quartet is frozen until the third cycle, remember?

That should upset the flow of play somewhat.
