So, today they had the huge service and funeral remembering Officer Briggs who was shot in the head by a stupid ignorant son of a bitch for no good reason at all. It was held at fishercat stadium right down the street from where I work because Officer Briggs was a Manchester police officer. Driving into work there were road signs flashing for vehicles how to get to the location and one of the girls I work with said the highways in Mass even had signs on how to get to the funeral and that she drove up here with multiple mass cops. I must have driven by atleast 50 police vehicles driving up to Manchester, none of which were from this area. It got me really choked up and sad and happy all at once. What a beautiful thing to see all these officers treating the situation like they lost a brother and what a sad thing that two children lost their father, a young woman became a widow and that there was no need for things to end this way. Officer Briggs actually saved the life of the man that killed him, it happened a couple years back. It is just a travesty. Not only that but the murderer has a son of his own and now that little boy is fatherless. Tell me what good was any of this?

And I feel guilty because for the past week all I have thought of was how sick and tired I am of working so much and what am I going to get for a halloween costume for a party I am going to next weekend.

I think we all need to be reminded at times to enjoy life and the people we are closest to, tell them we love them even when we fight and realize how fortunate we are for the things we have.

Rest in peace Officer Briggs.
