I called Uncle Kent today to talk about how much my life sucks, mostly due to the economy and a few other mishaps... He introduced me to the idea of AmeriCorps. I wasn't super excited about it at the time, but once I started looking into it, I think it would be really good for me. Especially in this job market. It makes me wonder if I wasn't somehow headed this direction anyway.... I mean, think about it. The "jobs" could potentially include a ton of outdoor work -- protecting the wilderness and environment, working with kids/people my age, living in a totally different state... And if I so choose, I could do it for just 6 months. And here are the things I have been thinking about life lately:
-I want to do more outdoor stuff
-I'd like to live or at least visit another state
-I want to meet new people
-I want to try something new and adventurous
Hellooooo... Ding, ding, ding... We have a winner! Looking more into this situation tomorrow. I think it would be a nice change. A good change.
