Been away - and will be for a bit longer

Found out Sunday that Mom was scheduled to have stents placed in an artery Tuesday. The procedure failed, so Mom's been scheduled for a double bypass to take place next Friday, October 3. I'm heading down tonight after work to spend the weekend with her, will be there for the surgery, and then will be down there every weekend to take care of her. We're still organizing a schedule for her care and helping her "get things done" that she wants taken care of before her surgery. "Just in case" as she says.
She's scared. I'm scared. We're all scared. I know it's a common procedure nowadays and that it's very sucessful for most people who have it done, but it's MY MOM. She's never had surgery before and she's almost 73.
Mom doesn't have a computer (horrors! I know!!!) and going back and forth will be kind of exhausting, but I'll get back here when I can, update about Da Mama, and try to come up with some amusing thingies to brighten your day just as soon as I can.
