I could so see my life played out as a girly soap opera right now.

Pan in on a long shot of you laying down in your bed,
Staring at the clock,
Unsure of where time is going and too preoccupied to care.

It would be quite the boring scene if the shot simply remained on you with your mind racing,
What's going on inside your head is way more fascinating than what's going on outside it.
You feel like you're being strangled by the words:
"I have a question for you."

Fade out.

Medium shot of him at his house,
Sitting talking to his roommate,
Wondering why his phone hasn't rung yet.

Confused by two different stories,
One told through a veil of bloody wounds and warped emotions,
The other trying to avoid ripping out any sutures while trying to find any logic in the situation.

Fade out

Zoom in to her at work,
Offering awful customer service,
Oh, if only those vegans could understand.

Flashback

Sitting in a car on your way back from Phoenix.
You've fallen asleep in the backseat,
With him and her in the front seat.
He doesn't even notice or care that you haven't said a word for the past hour.

This could have been the same exact moment that she decided to get to know you.

Flashback

You and him are at a zombie movie,
Both of you are covering your eyes with your hands because you can't handle blood and needles.

You laugh when you look over at him because you realize that you're not the only one who's terrified.

Flashback

You choose her friendship.
You call her to tell her so,
Fully aware that she'll get very upset with you but that in the long run she'll be happy you called.
She'll be happy that she heard it from you and not someone else.

Flashback

You and him are singing along.
It's a Kodak moment, really.

But you're nervous because you told her nothing would happen,
And you have every intention of sticking to that plan.
It's difficult when you're unsure of someone else's intentions.

Flashback

His phone call.
Oh, that fucking phone call.

It was the best and the worst thing to ever happen.
