Suzie appears from upstairs looking more than a little frazzled.
"There's no need to scream, Arnold. Did you bring the--" she realizes John is there--and her facial expression transforms into something far more annoyed.
"Honestly, they're dragging the foreign police into this now? I already told three officers I don't know where they got the explosives, and neither does Arnold, and shame on you for harassing a little boy!"
Arnold facepalms gently. "Suzie, John is a friend of mine, remember? He came to help get the house in order..."
"We appreciate your help. Really. Just call if you need anything, okay? But not too loud." And then she goes back upstairs to deal with...whatever she was doing before.
Once she's out of hearing range, Arnold gives John a highly dubious look. "You're awfully...happy, John."
He leads the way into the living room, even though John probably remembers how to get there, and pauses to examine the various furniture pieces that are now clustered near the door.
"Well, the sofa goes about there," he points helpfully, "and the TV stand and TV in front of that...there're some chairs over there..."
That means probably the couch first, but Arnold is still apparently deep in thought.
John says this as though he's never seen a mess before.
"You weren't kidding, huh?"
Reply
Really, John.
Arnold opens the door and steps into the foyer of the boarding house, which is full of boxes.
The narration apologizes for John's ears as Arnold yells for Suzie.

Look, Arnold! Look at John's actual smile!
"It's nice to see you again."

"Well, we can definitely do with more help around the house. You can move furniture, right?"
"We can both help," Arnold pipes up. "The living room, right?"
"Right," Suzie agrees. "Just...put it back the way it was, okay?"

Isn't this creepy, Arnold?
"Anything to help. Arnold's been telling me about the chaos."

It's suspicious! Or something.

And just like that, his usual expression is back.
"Alright, come on. What should we move first?"

John's not exactly a spry young lad, you know?

"We should go ahead and do the couch."
Arnold moves to one end of the couch in question and gives John an expectant look. Come on, John, help him out~

John moves to the opposite end of the couch, nodding. "Push it, okay? No lifting."

And Arnold starts pushing in the proper direction, putting all his weight behind it as kids are wont to do in such situations.

"From pushing the couch?"
