Last night was the Denver Zombie Crawl. Much roxoring ensued.
Reactions from various onlookers were mostly positive; some seemed to be offended or at least a little put off. That's fine. Very little pleases me quite as much as freaking out the squares. Several of my delightful compadres, the searingly handsome, devastatingly intelligent, and extremely articulate tesseractheart and ratontheroad were in attendance, along with our fantastic friend Wolf.
Wolf is a makeup artist par excellance, and managed to make us look rather dead. It was like something out of Zoolander - a tiny makeup ensemble, a small tube of fake blood, approximately 30 seconds, and voila - we were transformed and ready to begin our search for brainsssssss.
After a while, ratontheroad decided to wax political, which, although it sounds like something one does at a beauty parlor (like a Brazilian wax for the body politic), was actually pretty cool. By the end, he had convinced nearby fellow-zombies that they too need equal protection under the law, just like the living. His fervent and strident speech to further zombie rights will undoubtedly make ripples in the political advancement of all Zombie-Americans. After all, zombies were people too.
tesseractheart managed to please nearby zombies with an awesome zombie dance. He was totally jamming out, zombie style. I'm pretty sure he's a force for the advancement of zombie arts. Next year I think he pledged to do a home-grown rendition of Thriller. He mentioned getting Improv Everywhere involved, which would be awesome. Awesomeness is pretty much par for the course with him, though.
October 24 is the Zombie Crawl in Colorado Springs. 8pm. Kiowa & Nevada, beginning at The Underground. It's gonna be a shambling good time undoubtedly.
