Who's your Daddy? Let's play psychological surgery!!

Fox is debuting a new reality show that I think takes what we define as 'reality television' too far. I snatched the description of the show off of Fox's website, here it is:

After a lifetime of separation, does the bond between parent and child remain? A reunion show like no other, WHO’S YOUR DADDY? provides a woman, who was given up for adoption as an infant, with an extraordinary opportunity to meet the birth father who also has been searching for her. But wait, there’s a twist. Before meeting her dad, the young woman will be presented with eight men, all claiming to be her father, and she must determine which one really is. And to keep her real dad from revealing himself from the start, there is $100,000 at stake for his daughter. She will have opportunities to interview and observe the men, narrowing the field. If she guesses right, the prize will be hers. If she guesses wrong, the imposter will win the money. Either way, daughter and father will be reunited on the dramatic and emotional special WHO’S YOUR DADDY?

Fox picking up a girl who was adopted as an infant and selecting her to be on a show that gives her eight men all claiming to be her father is just fucking wrong. Possibly damaging her psychology by saying "Hey, this guy's your father...or is he?" sure puts her on the line, and this is just to get ratings. I refuse to watch a television show that does something like this for themselves and for the entertainment of others. I can see some fat slob sitting on the couch laughing while saying, "That's funny, she doesn't know who her father is!" Yeah.

If anyone reads this, I ask them not to watch this show tonight - I won't think of you any differently if you do watch a show like this, but at least consider what this girl will be going through as she as put to the test to see if she knows who her dad is.
