So! Christmas! It’s this week! Holy crap, that means it’s December already. What happened to the rest of 2009? SERIOUSLY?
AND HOLY CRAP IS IT COLD. I hate the cold, hate it. Needless to say, I am not a fan of this whole winter business. Enough of these season-changing shenanigans! I’m moving south! Far south. Like…to Barbados or something. Deal some crack, make a fortune. It’s a good plan, really.
But I love Christmas. It’s worth all the ice and slush and wet shoes and crazy drivers and numb fingers, just to see my mom and sister smile when they open their presents Christmas morning. It’s like, for that one day, everything that’s wrong with the world-all the misery, the disappointment, the rage, the freaking cold-all the bullshit doesn’t matter any more. It just feels right.
For that one day, everything is warm again.
