So we're still a long way off from being truly financially stable, but with the tips I've been making at work, the Boy and I have been able to expand our food budget a little. We bought one of those huge-ass tubs of mixed greens the other day. You know, the ones with every kind of leafy deliciousness you can think of, that starts going bad the second you you open it? One of those. We've been eating salad every day. It's awesome. Also nabbed a big bunch of kale (which we added to this awesome pasta), and a few fruits that were on sale.
Honestly, I can feel the difference already. None of that gross, uncomfortable after-meal queasiness. It feels good to inject some produce back into my diet. I've been gaining weight since the minute I arrived in Chicago. It's not really about appearance, though that it part of it (a part further exacerbated by the fact that I work in Andersonville, which is a very LGBT-friendly community and thus overflowing with outrageously hot people). It's more that I just feel gross. I'm all tired and sluggish and none of my body parts work right anymore. Eating better goes a long way toward better health, so hopefully this will help get me out of this slump. And back into my sexy jeans, which I miss terribly.
