Before I say anything else, I’ll ask you all to indulge me in this Johari window trend, because I’ve gotta know.
I’ve spent my weekend so far working on the most selfish, spectacular mix ever. It’s in two volumes: one full of shamelessly silly pop songs with great sing-along potential, & the other full of love songs I like to sing along loudly to, the mix CD I’ve always wanted someone else to make for me. I’ve recently realized that no one would ever put Jill Sobule’s “Resistance Song” on a mix for me, so I’ve taken matters into my own hands, just in time for Valentine’s Day*.
However, YouSendIt hates me, & so I’m unable to post my mixes. So much for that idea. Still, it got me wondering what your favorite love songs are, so you should all tell me, right now, okay?
In other news: I have Sweet Valley High books from Goodwill! I am going to London over spring break!!! My friends are incredible & indulge my love of dressing up & televised drama.
I’m not afraid of February anymore, no matter what Dar Williams sang about it. LFO is the best band that has ever existed, basically. Life is good, if completely straining, & it’s good for me to remember this periodically, because it’s become so easy to get caught up in all of my failings, to let myself forget how crazy beautiful life has been. So, there I am. How the hell have you all been? ♥
*I am not someone who likes Valentine’s Day so much; mine are usually dramatic & bitter & lonely. That said, it’s one hell of an excuse to make mixtapes. Also, my favorite word in the entire world is “valentine”, because it feels so damn good to say. Go on; try it.
