Trip to Pittsboro today was awesome in a completely unexpected way; instead of the mythical coat sale at Beggars and Choosers, Larsy and I found ourselves suddenly tossed into the middle of a Christmas parade, replete with tractors, a shitty marching band, fire engines rolling slowly by with sirens blaring, local beauty queens (think: Little Miss Chatham County Fair) with shiny teeth and ceaselessly rotating upraised hands, countless classic cars, and ridiculous amounts of candy tossed from the procession (said candy was immediately snatched by the disturbingly swift and ruthless kids on either side of us).
Now, eating my white trash dinner (tuna melt, microwave popcorn, Schlitz), I slowly turn over and over the idea of a world empty of residents, in which I can walk into any house, let the dog out for a game of throw-the-stick, eat Doritos until my cravings for processed food are sated, and then move on again, never to return.
