[Lily nods, managing a small smile before hanging up.]
[She takes her time gathering up the vials of elixir, cleaning up the potions ingredients, washing out her cauldron. Unable to resist, she takes the last few drops of elixir from the cauldron before she cleans it, giving her a little mood boost as she cooks Ron a roasted chicken using magic.]
[It certainly did smell good, he had to admit that, face going a little pink again as he walked in. He sincerely hoped that she hadn't gone to too much trouble putting something together. Not that waving a wand was all that difficult, he'd seen his mom do it loads of time when she was pressed for time. Not even a pause before he headed for the kitchen, hovering in the doorway for a moment.]
[Lily smiles brightly, setting him a spot at the island in the kitchen, next to one for her. There's a vial of sunshine yellow liquid beside each of their plates.]
It really was no trouble. And...I'm sure your mum has looked after Harry over the years, hasn't she? I've been thinking about that a lot. About you and your family and...all right, I'm rambling. Sit down, we can take the potion and have dinner.
Yeah, he's been over loads of times, probably not as much as he should have been though. Spent most of his summers with those awful muggles, everyone else thought it was safer or something, I guess, I think it's a bunch of rubbish if you ask me...
[Finally that stop and a realisation that maybe he wasn't being the nicest, his whole face going red.]
But I mean, I guess they were family or something, so that's better than nothing...
[She sighs, serving them both and speaking quietly.]
No. It's all right. I can't imagine that Petunia would...she doesn't like me. She likes James even less. She would be the last person I would want to take care of my child.

You want to have some Elixir with me?

[A deep intake of breath, shaking his head and clearing his throat.]
Yeah, I'll be back in a bit...

[She nods.]
All right. I'll make you something to eat as well. Anything in particular you'd like for dinner?
Reply
[Then a frown.]
You know you don't really have to make anything for me, right?

You really think I want to end up out there on the street again? Food or not, you lot are stuck with me.

Well then, you make whatever you think is best...anything is fine with me, really.
[Well, not anything, but he was trying to sound gracious.]

I think I know what you like by now. It'll be ready whenever you get home.

I'll...
[Oh dear, this is no time to be flustered over the attention.]
I'll be home soon.
