Being crafty
Dear journal.....
I picked up the knitting habit a little over a year ago....maybe September 2006. I started making this scarf....
It took me about a month & a half to make. It was my first knitting project....it's a little lumpy & uneven...whatever. I tried to keep it simple, but that kind of yarn, to start off with, isn't really a simple yarn. I can't tell you how many times I ripped it out & started over...OMG!
This is the closeup of the yarn I used (Lion Brand Homespun - Harvest)
I just fell in-love with the colors. Reminds me of the trees along the road in the fall....firey & earthy! Yeah...so I just kept at it....with little or no instruction.
I can cast on & off....but I have a hard time following directions...I read them, but I can't make any sense out of them. I think I need to be shown what to do & then I would be fine. Pictures, for this kind of thing, do not work for me. I was trying to do a purl stitch for the whole thing, but I think this is a backwards purl maybe???
It was difficult but fun. I need a little more practice, I think. I actually started another one right after I finished this one....and it made me so mad I put it down...and I JUST NOW finished it....I'll post pics of it later....
