Wow! You're lucky to have seen the Hawkeye. I'm always amazed that they got something with that huge dish on it to fly... But then again I'm still amazed they fly shuttles around on the backs of 747s. The Hip's an awesome helicopter, great lift capacity.

I love the Vulcan. The story of the Black Buck raids on the Falklands are some of my favourites and apparently the thing handles more like a fighter than a bomber. One of my professors at university worked on the electronics in them and he had some stories to tell about them that would make you wince.

The Tornado - I live right by the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. I've been to a few of their big shows and they used to always get one of the local RAF bases to do a flypast of a Tornado for the show. My God! The Sound! They'd turn over the field and kick the engines up to full throttle... You could feel your chest resonating! A month or so ago, they stopped using Tornados. I came home one day to see a Eurofighter Typhoon turning overhead and then its jet nozzles lit up as it kicked in its afterburners. That was amazing.

Oh, and the D-Day celebration they did in 2004? They had an Apache Longbow, first sitting on the tarmac where you could get a close look and chat to the pilots and then doing its little low-altitude performance piece over the crowd.

Having seen all of that, the one I still want to see is the Harrier. I've always loved that one.
