(no subject)
Well my niece kind of forced the issue. I guess she had been assigned the task of pulling weeds from the driveway and breaking up the fallen tree branches, but decided she wanted to impress her mother and pulled weeds from the patio also. I've never seen her actually work like a reasonable human being before. She was actually working with reasonable vigor and using tools sensibly. She's matured a lot in the past couple months.
Anyway, I made a sandwich and watched her work. Haha! After eating I helped her though, and we were a good team. I would have preferred a little chit chat, but she seemed to need her concentration. Working is probably a pretty new thing for her.
Then we played on the internet for maybe a half hour and now she's out walking around with her best friend until dark. Then we will watch a David Attenborough documentary on animals. She loves animals, but mostly just loves how cute they are, rather than the natural history aspect. She's only 13 though, so that seems fine.
Man, I keep craving cookies super bad, but it's too warm for baking.
