Since the Tigers being down three games to one in the ALCS makes me die (is "die" too strong a word? No, it is not.), baseball is dead. This is my only defense at this point. There is no such thing as baseball.

If you aren't a baseball fan, if you haven't bled blue and orange since 1984 when your team last won the World Series, you can't understand. You will think I'm insane, and whatever, that's your right. But shut up.

Baseball is dead.

I love Ron Washington intellectually. Awesome guy, great manager, world class fella. So the Texas Rangers are therefore not the Paragon of Evil that the new york yankees (note lower case letters) are. But Jim Leyland is my dad. The Tigers are my hometown, although I've never set foot in Wayne County, Michigan.

It's completely irrational and it bothers me, but truth is truth. Pain is pain. But from now on baseball is dead. There is no point. Pain hurts more than pleasure feels good. I will no longer trouble myself with such things. Mark, King of Scotland, mark.
