May 15, 2007 22:47

Name: Hermione Granger
Date: July 7, 1997
Format: Pensieve Memory
Relevence: Hermione stopped believing in 'worst' during her second year at Hogwarts. We may deduce, however, that this memory was subjectively pretty dire from it's excellent quality; she seems to have been determined to not only file it but get it out of her head as completely as ( Read more... )

*sympathetically* I might be sorry.

(jaw sets)
You know exactly whose fault it is that we have to make choices like these.
...But thanks, Harry. And for letting me take care of it. Nothing happened while I was home, did it?

*looks uncomfortable with the position he's put her in*

I do. I know.

It's hard not to feel like it's my fault sometimes, but I know it's not. I know you're here because you want to be.

*squeezes her shoulder*

Thanks for that.

*shakes his head*

No, nothing of serious note. I promised I'd keep a low profile while you were gone and I did. *smiles slightly* You have me well trained.

(smiles at him wryly, seeing him guilt)
Well, we already know you can manage hard please do not in any way reference Malfoy at this point. You know both those things, so just go on remembering them, all right?

(puts her hand over his and squeezes back)
I won't say it's my pleasure. But I wouldn't be anywhere else.

Do you want a biscuit?
(grins)
Really, do you? They're non-sugar; my mum made them; but they're not bad all the same.

*presses his lips together in the obvious urge to say something about Malfoy at this point, but manages not to*

I wouldn't be anywhere else, either. We're doing the right thing, ugly as it might end up being.

*raises his brows*
Non-sugar? What's the point?

(deeply relieved)

Is that how we know, do you think? 'The course of true love' sort of thing, only not in the romantic drivel sort of way?

(shrugs)
They're still biscuits. Just with less enamel-destroying sweeteners.

Oh. I meant that we *indicates he and Hermione* were doing the right thing in protecting our loved ones and fighting evil.

With Draco... I don't know. It feels good and I think it's right, but I don't really know. I'm looking forward to finding out, though.

*still can't wrap his head around biscuits without sugar*
Can I have half of one?

(tilts her head at him)
Er... so did I. But that's.... um... good! That's really good.

Sure.
(breaks off half a piece of gingerbread and hands it to him)

*blushes at his gaffe*

Oh, well, good, then we're on the same page.

*takes the ginger bread and makes a face that he's eating something with no sugar, but finds it pretty tasty anyway and eats it quickly*

So did anything interesting happen while you were there?

(blushing, too, not really wanting to think about anything feeling right with Malfoy, yeurgh...)
...The best pages are the ones you have company on?

(gives him the other half)
Crookshanks uncovered a Terrible Plot. Not in time, though, poor kitty; I think he's still sulking.

*grins*

Company is always good, especially of the non-arachnid variety.

*raises a brow*
Oh? What kind of Terrible Plot?

*pops the second half into his mouth*

Especially if you're Ron. That must have been really weird for you in the forest, if you used to make friends of spiders.

(half-laughing, half-guilty)
Oh, well... you know, the weather's been so odd, with all the mist and humidity, and he's got so much fur, he was miserable with it, really he was, and smelling, like, well, wet cat all the time, so Mum thought... well, he really looks like a small lion now...

*laughs*
I didn't have a particular affinity for spiders. I don't even recall that I talked to another one after that so much.

Although I guess on some level I wondered if it wasn't karmic retribution for drawing Dursley attention to the spider situation in the house.

*gapes*
That's animal cruelty!

...can I see?

(has the worried-about-him look for a second, then shakes it off)
Just as well, maybe; Hagrid would've been sorry if he'd ruined spiders for you.

Not if you didn't bring them down on them on purpose, I don't think.

(giggles at him)
If you can get him out from under the bed. He's doing a great imitation of an offended cave lion; I don't even know how he got under there with how big he is.

Well, I mean... if they were there and no one else was I was up for a chat, but I don't exactly want to invite them over for tea.

I guess I never got over that one...

Cats are rather flexible, I think. I bet he'd come out if I took on my Animagus form. *grins*

I'm not sure I want to know if they can swim in tea...

(presses his arm)
We've got to live, Harry. Luna said that, and she's right. We take all the precautions, and it's not your fault you didn't know to then, and we do what we have to, but everything doesn't just stop. Not quite everything, or we may as well tie Dementors to our backs, and who can take care of anything like that?

(is pretty sure he's kidding, but alarmed anyway)
Harry, no way!

Whereas Sev thinks it's a great idea, and I'm amused they're both reacting like he's serious. ^,^
