I'm surprised they're allowing Ron. I'd say bring it up if they make trouble about him, but they don't seem the compromising sort, from what you've said; it'd probably just make them put their collective foot down.
(eyes widen in appalled disbelief) But--but I'm a witch! Wouldn't that make me just as bad to him as being muggle-born does to those decrepit families?
You know the Ministry, Harry. If you do any magic in a muggle area before you're of age, they won't care we've d-decided not to go back, they'll say you're expelled and send people to break your wand.
Allowing is a strong word... *looks a little shifty* There might've been a bit of arm twisting to get them to let him come. Dumbledore put the fear of God into them last year, though.
*laughs* You're a girl. I'm not sure he sees much beyond that right now.
I know. I know. But they don't know that. Besides, as you said, Ron can use magic.
*smiles, but looks a little distant, like he's compartmentalizing his feelings* It really was. He'd charmed drinks for them, because they needed one, but they wouldn't take them, so the glasses kept knocking them in the heads more insistantly.
*nods* Yeah, he is. But he's... I'm... I have bigger issues on my mind and he really doesn't.
I'm trying to keep my bases covered, but I don't think it'll be a big issue.
(looks a little depressed) Yes. Good point. Well--I hope it's all right if I don't think too hard about Dudley Dursley falling easily into the category of relative innocents we're trying to protect.
(nods) Probably not. I just keep thinking about that dementor; no one expected that.
*tries to remember if they took the drinks* He said they'd stop if they took them...
*nods and shrugs* He doesn't know any better. I don't know. Dumbledore said that the Dursleys spoiled him, made him turn out that way. I don't like him, I don't like them, but I wouldn't see them dead. With pig's tails, yes, but not dead or enslaved.
*tilts his head, too wrapped up in the present to recall it* Which dementor?
*hates that he's had so many dementor encounters that he has to ask which one*
Oh. Right. Well, that sort of thing can only really happen when I'm out of the house, if I understand it correctly. But Ron will have my back when we go out and... right.
You only have to see them one more time, though, right?

Not that they have the nerve to lock me in the cupboard anymore. I couldn't do magic at home, but they hardly knew that.

And he's of age now, so he--not that I'm saying he should do anything, but it's always better not to be bluffing.
Reply
And Dudley would probably flirt with you. *makes a face*
*laughs*
They saw me blow up my aunt, so I think they believe me.

That must have been marvelous.
(looks pained)
Isn't he about your age?
(nods)
I'm just glad you'll have your bases covered.

No, of course not.
