Name: Remus Lupin
Format: Letter to Albus Dumbledore
Date: 1993 (some time before start of term)
Relevance: Remus's acceptance letter for position of Defence Against the Dark Arts instructor.

Written text as follows:

Headmaster,

I am humbled by your consideration. Nothing would please me more than to accept the position of Defence Against the Dark Arts instructor. Might we meet soon to discuss the curriculum?

Your offer couldn't have come at a better time. As you know, my condition prevents me from good paying work. Might I impose upon you to see that my lycanthropy does not become an issue? I will require use of the Shrieking Shack for safety measures. Have you any substitutes in mind for my days absent?

I understand the position comes with a bit of a curse attached. I do hope that I will be able to stay on and end the bit of unfortunate luck. On both our behalves.

Thank you again for the offer. I look forward to shaping young minds.

Moste Sincerely,

Remus J. Lupin
