Dear Harry,

Greetings from Marseille! I do hope you are well and enjoying your summer holiday. I must say that it is a bit of a relief to be out of the cold of Scotland and back by the sea with my family, though it must be much warmer now and after all, you are now with your family as well in England. Of course, you are already aware of all of this How has it been so far? I expect that you have been very busy like me. There is so much to do and now that I am finished with school it seems as if there is no end to such things!

I hope also that you have healed well from your injuries. Much of the Triwizard seems very like a dream now after everything that has happened. There are times when one must question what one most desires to be true, no matter how much it may change one's world and the people in it. Saying this, I would like to take the opportunity to tell you that I listened very carefully to what you spoke of in the last days of our stay at Hogwarts. I cannot imagine why you would say such things except if they were true. What I have seen with my own eyes and what I know of your courage first hand leads me to this particular point. So, in me you have a trusted ally if indeed you should like one. I owe you much gratitude alone for the rescue of my sister - a thing which neither of us will soon forget. Gabrielle speaks of little else when your name is mentioned, after all. But enough of such weary talk. I fear I have bored you to tears with this earnest part of my letter! We must move on to happier subjects.

As it is the proper time of year, I should also like to wish you a very Happy Birthday. (It was Gabrielle who insisted I include this in this very spot, but my wishes remain sincere all the same!) Ah, and here I see I have filled much of this parchment with my scribbles. You should excuse me for going on at length and also for ending so awkwardly, but my mother is calling me to help set out things for supper, and I fear that if I leave to conclude this until later, I shall never finish and so what a silly letter it would be and one you would never get.

Here I leave you and I wish you warm summer days and much fun with your school friends.

Au revoir!
