Relevance: Evidence of plots to remove Albus Dumbledore as Headmaster of Hogwarts, evidence of pre-planned muggle terrorization, relevance to separate actions of other Death Eaters.
15th December, 1975
Only three more days till the end of term. Rodolphus has promised to take me to London and promised, finally, that we’ll do something a bit more grown up. He’s said he’ll take me to see muggles. He took Narcissa last year before she got married and now she’s pretending to be a respectable lady.
Speaking of that odd arrangement, Lucius is going to be visiting the school in his capacity as school governor. He’s going to look over the school’s finances and a few other things, and continue to make his case the school board that Dumbledore shouldn’t be the headmaster. I don’t think he’ll get very far this time either.
Although Dumbledore shows obvious favouritism to the Gryffindors and has no idea of safety or, indeed, of what is appropriate and what isn’t, they seem to love the old man.
I wonder if Lucius has any one lined up to take over from him. Pushing for a replacement with no one a possible candidate seems a little short-sighted. He’s probably elected himself, actually. I don’t think I’d want to be in a school with Lucius as headmaster. I think I’d spend far too much time being called to his office to actually learn anything in class.
Although, if he did get rid of that old fool we might actually get someone who understands the importance of teaching pureblood values and pureblood ideas instead of ignoring them, or worse mocking them! And someone who’ll get rid of all these silly subjects like Care of Magical Creatures that any idiot can pass and get us back to studying the important things like History of Magic and Potions.
Only three more days and I can get out of this awful place, and go home and get back to study things which we should be learning. I can’t wait for Rodolphus to show me that new spell he’s being so secretive about.
