Relevance: Possible reference to the death of Regulus Black. The back of the note is stained with blood, later determined to be Sirius Black's. This event (aforementioned death) was the precursor to a series of suspicious actions on the part of S. Black.
Archivist's note: After examination, it was concluded that the obliterated words most likely read: "He's dead."
