Dear Father,

I thought the piece 'My Yeti and Me' in the September issue was very interesting, especially the sidebar on glossary of terms in Yetish. The illustration was a little bit murky though. Was the yeti really eating the mountain climber? It looked a bit like he was eating a goat. Maybe you should have coloured his clothes a darker colour, to differentiate between the fur and clothes and blood.

People sat with me on the train this year. It was the first time ever, and it was nicer than I thought it would be. It was because they didn't have anywhere else to sit, I think, but even so.

School is as well as always. I don't think our Defense teacher is an impostor, this year, but she is wretched all the same. She wears sweater-sets and fake pearls and is somewhat amphibious. Professor Umbridge (that's her name, the same one who hates half-breeds) was sharp with me when I asked her about carnivorous assassin slugs employed by the Ministry.

We're not to use wands in her class at all this year, just readings. It's alright though, because I am going to be doing extra defense lessons after classes. It is with the same people that sat on the train with me, so it's almost like we're playing make believe at being friends.

It's all very cloaks and daggers, though, so you musn't tell anyone about it. No, not even Søren. You can never be too sure that owls won't gossip. When I come back with all sorts of new curses and medals from my studying, then I'll explain to Søren how I got them. Until then, mum's the word.

I have to go now, on account of I have to go scout for Lildesnops down in the dungeons before lights out.

Take care, Father. Remember to eat enough garlic.

Love,
Luna

P.S. Make sure you don't elongate the 'o' when you're saying the Ironing charm. That's what is singing the collars of your shirts. It looks as though you've had a run-in with an angry cigarette.
