I think I still heel strike in them walking about 75% of the time when I'm not thinking about it and let my stride get too long, but I'm not doing it hard. There's a spot on my left heel that seems to take all the abuse from rocks, nail heads, etc - I swear, if there's one single hazard on an otherwise flat empty surface, that spot gets hit by it like it's a magnet - so I'm trying to be really conscious of how I'm walking now and land on the midfoot.
I don't know how I'd do if I tried any real distance walking in them - and I sit most of the day - but I think it helps not-heel-striking so much that the carpet where I work is thin and directly glued to the concrete instead of padded.
