Total Embarrassment, or partial?!?!
I am typing this quick... 'cause I am exhausted, but need to share :)
Tonight was Christian's band concert. I am the Band Parent Association chair and have the privilege (honour, duty, obligation?) to say a small speech somewhere in the middle.
Unfortunately tonight was not my night :) When it was time for me to get up in front of everyone I had JUST finished an XL Timmies coffee (compliments of my sister) and hadn't eaten since lunch time (a sandwich). My bladder was full and it was my turn. So I got to the front of the auditorium and started with my speech. I am not generally nervous about this, but yet the hand I held my paper in kept shaking. I couldn't spit out 'Valley Gardens Music Parents Association' for the life of me, and I said (2 or 3 times) 'music problem' instead of 'music program'...LOL!!!
At some point, perhaps after I said PROBLEM instead of PROGRAM... I laughed and said "gosh, I need a drink". Tee hee.
OOPS!!!!!
But I laughed my way through it and entertained MANY.
People either think I am really fun, living up to my blonde hair, or desperately need a drink (ie. alcoholic). I am hoping for one of the first two scenarios :)
I think I will wear a name tag that says "Trophey Chair" for the next concert... tee hee.
Good times.
Christian's band teacher was still laughing at the end during clean up :)
Christian... not so much :)
Oh well... I am trying to build his character anyway.
Plus I keep telling him that I could homeschool him and then he won't have these problems :)
