my building here at school is connected to the math building. in between the two there's a little area that's like a mini food court. one of the joints is a little coffee shop. i get coffee there a lot. surprisingly enough, it's not a starbucks.
a bit ago, i was in there getting coffee. the set up is, they have little thermos-like containers for milk and half & half, and those coffee canisters that you push the big button on the top to squeeze out the coffee. it's self-serve.
so my little routine, which seems to be the opposite order as everyone else, is i grab the little insulating sleeve, put it on the cup, pour a bit of milk into the cup, and fill in the coffee. a silver-haired gentleman was also there getting coffee. he watched me do this, and said, "well that's a damn good idea."
"i think so," i replied.
"you're an engineer, aren't you?"
"hehehe. yes. yes i am."
"i knew it. now you don't even have to stir the milk in!"
"yep. i can also now fill the cup all the way up with coffee. no guesswork."
"i should do that!" he said.
