Bittersweet, yeah, but lovely too. I liked a lot of things in this, as short as it is-- the tricky relationship between them as brothers and countries, the way England is weirded out by crossing the border, a more hopeful present that's tinged by an unpleasant past...

You do have to wonder why England's brothers aren't seen as often as he is, and one has to assume that there's some kind of resentment about him hogging the limelight. And any fic about them is going to have to address their... rocky relationship. Oh England, can you get along with ANYONE? (answer: no) Anyway, thanks for reading! Sorry my reply started to get a bit rambly there...
