I love description that makes me see and feel what the characters are seeing and feeling, rather than being told that "he did that and he responded by doing that and he moaned and it felt good." The sensory description, as long as it doesn't wax too poetic, is what REALLY gets me, no matter what is happening. Honestly I will read ANYTHING as long as the description hits the right buttons--and if it hits it well enough, I might even jump kink.

What ruins it is when an author has the POV character pull back and get in this deep philosophical state about their FEELINGS and how much they're in LOVE and how they got to that point; it's best somewhere else, not in the middle of a hot and steamy sex scene. It's alright in small small doses, I suppose, but if it's a big dump I'll lose interest. Also, trying to get creative with word choice and names for body parts. A cock is a cock and an eye is an eye, if you get into "throbbing sabre" and "glittering (insert gemstone here) orbs" territory I'm going to laugh my ass off and the entire thing is ruined.

So basically I'm sensory description > actions > feelings.

:)

And I've definitely jumped kink before - the meme's gotten me into D/s and some forms of watersports, because they were written in a way that pushed my buttons and it was obvious that the characters were enjoying themselves.
