Fans thinking that fanon is better than canon...

It wasn't my intent at first to make a post about it, until I saw a Tumblr entry that really pissed me off...

Basically, the whole entry was talking about new characters in Hetalia. The poster wished Himaruya would stop making new characters. If this was because the others haven't got a lot of appearances, I would be okay with this, but it wasn't. Instead, it complained about India's gender, Romania having vampire traits, too much males and character who pop up randomly. Just because they wasn't what OP would expect. He moreover added that OCs and fanon portrayals of the characters were obviously much better than canon. You know ? The basis of the fanon.

I'm honetsly sick of people underestimating Himaruya or wanting him to bend over the common thinking of the fanon. People who aren't happy with what Himaruya give us will automatically hide into fanon's skirts, make the characters OOC in the most extreme of the cases, which is far from being a good idea because hey... who's woobiefying England ? Who's turning Russia into a rapetruck ? Who is making Prussia like he was some god ? And let's not talk about mary-sues fan-characters. It's okay to be disappointed with Himaruya's decision, it's okay to not worship him, but don't go saying something as diverse as fanon is obviously better than canon...

Not only it's disrespectful for Himaruya but also it makes you look like you're obnoxious because you hold that sort of pretention you can do better than him. In what ? Historical accuracy ? Hetalia's not supposed to be a history book, you know. There's a lot of things Himaruya doesn't know, neither I or many fans. Sticking to your fanworks won't help, moreover. Better go ahead with the canon and new characters or go away from the fandom.

And last but not least, I find it extremely silly and ridiculous to drop the series just because you aren't happy with Himaruya's decision about a character. By doing so, I will say you're not really a fan.

End of the rant. It turned out to be more personal...
