The Seychelles hate has been around ever since the first Gakuen game. That said, I've NEVER understood the Seychelles hate. I don't find anything in her remotely unlikeable.

Some claim to dislike her because she doesn't have any personality. Uh...I like Taiwan a lot even though she REALLY hasn't been given any personality yet AT ALL? Same can be said about several characters; for example, the Nordics were always well loved even before some of them debuted in strips.

Some claim it's because 'she gets all the boys'. In the PSP game, that obviously doesn't happen despite what haters seem to believe. In the original game...well, France does flirt with Seychelles but then, when hasn't he been a natural flirt? But I honestly think this is the main reason of why people hate her, because 'OMG how could France be hitting on a girl! Unforgivable!'

Some claim it's because it didn't allow them to self-insert themselves in the PSP game, making it more Dating Sim-like. TBH, I would have liked it way less had it been like that. Because I prefer to watch interactions rather than being myself the one interacting with the boys, lol.

Some claim it's because she's a Mary Sue. Uh...she's not a beauty, she's not good on everything she does, she's a bit of a tomboy and she has quite the bad mood at times. She's the prototype of perfection, right? /sarcastic

Hating, no matter the case, is always going too far and it shouldn't happen. But in this case, even plain dislike, I can't see the reasoning of it. To be indifferent about her makes sense, but disliking her, as I said...I don't see anything unlikeable on her? o_o;

I agree with all the points you made. Besides, because France groped boys in the original series deosn't mean he hasn't a fondness for girls. It's actually quite the opposite when you re-read the Christmas Bloodbath 2007.

Anyway, if it should ever happen, if I can't go out with Turkey, the game will suck 8D. *headshot*

The Mary-Sue argument is weak... it usually go out of some mouths because their owners don't like a girl's personnality or the way she's behaving. Duh...

I don't know, there are plenty of characters that I just don't care about and yet I wouldn't dare calling that 'I don't like them'. And even for those I don't really like, I don't feel either as if it's an important issue to be vocal about it. But in Seychelles' case, it seems to be the 'cool' thing to be very vocal either about your hating, your dislike, or plainly about your not-liking her. And before PSP Gakuen, she was just a minor character who just happened to be the lead in an obscure, unfinished game. And even yet, she got tons of disliking. It just baffles me o_o
