Music

Which genres of music do you tend to prefer?: Musicals, opera, brit pop, rock
What kind of vocals do you tend to like in your songs?: Lyrics wise, I like songs that tell a story or have meaning. Sound wise, I like either high voices (like counter-tenor/sopranos) or husky voices (a la Janis Joplin).
Do you like faster songs, or ones that are more ballad-like for the most part?: Faster

Imagine having your very own character CD. What songs that you're familiar with could you see being on the track list (please don't include any Hetalia songs in this list)? Feel free to include why you'd list the following songs if you want to:

Human Nature - Madonna [Pretty self explanatory, I think, but I have a "this is my life, stay away from it" philosophy]

Stuck in the middle - Mika [Similar to the song above]

Komm, süßer Tod - The End of Evangelion [Evangelion was a huge part of my teenage years and this song is the symbol of that]

On my own - Les Miserables [Unrequited love is not pretty and the first time I went to see Les Mis I was going trough it]

Think of Me - Phantom of the Opera [It makes me think of my relationship with my boyfriend: "we never said our love was evergreen or as unchanging as the sea"]

Under your spell - Once more with feeling [Besides being a huge Buffy fan, this song always reminds me of how wonderful being loved is]

I am what I am - Gloria Gaynor [Self explanatory]

Pies descalzos, sueños blancos - Shakira [Like "Human Nature", this is a song about being oneself no matter what others think]

Virgin state of mind - KS Choice [This is a reminder of the dark moments in my life when I literally felt like I was in a new, unknown world]

All that jazz - Chicago ["I bet you lucky Lindy never flew so high (...) I'm no one's life, but I love my life!" This is my happy song, to be honest]

Cabaret - Cabaret [I have a thing for Germany between wars and musicals, so this is a dream come true]

Gotta knock a little harder - Cowboy Bebop [I can be a tad misanthropic, so this song fits me perfectly]

Somewhere over the rainbow -  Me First and the Gimme Gimmes [Do I need to explain?]

Me an Bobby McGee - Janis Joplin [Freedom! I love Janis. I love the 60's]

The End - The Doors [This will be the soundtrack of the Vietnam war and the grim 70's. I love them, too]

Hate on me - Jill Scott ["Hate on me hater" is a a wonderful way of life]

Anarchy in the UK - Sex Pistols [I love Punk music. I love its disruptive nature]

20th century boy - Placebo [Placebo is one of my favourite bands and this song is in Velvet Goldmine, one of my favourite films]

No place like London - Sweeney Todd [Sondheim! Do I need to say more?]

Tumbling down - Steve Harley [Have I say that I love the 70's? Well, I'd have 70's British rock babies. It's amazing. This song is my " spending a Summer afternoon under a tree and just feeling the universe" song]

Sebastian - Steve Harley [Pretty much the same that  I said above]

Radetzky March - Strauss [History nerd here, I adore this march that celebrates Austrian triumph over the revolutionary Italy. My family was from the Austrian-Italian border and they were pro-Austria. In addition, watching people clap hen this is performed live is priceless]

Variations Brillantes, OP. 12 - Chopin [Chopin will always have a place in my heart and this is a wonderful, almost broken piece]

Allein! Weh, ganz allein - Richard Strauss (Elektra) [Strauss' modern opera is simply breath-taking and Leonie Risanek as Elektra is simply perfect. This piece shows the acute sense of pride that marks Elektra. This is the first "non-traditional" opera I went to and it marked me]

Symphony N°25 in G minor, K. 183, 1st movement - Mozart [Another happy song! When I was younger I was a gymnast of sorts. This was my competition piece]

Name some of your favorite music artists/bands: Madonna, Mika, Placebo, Chopin, Mozart, Janis Joplin, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

What's your favorite character song from Hetalia thus far (please note: the answer to this question isn’t an indication of what your character song would be, but has more to do with your musical preferences)?: Absolutely Invincible British Gentleman
And your least favorite?: I don't dislike any of them, but I'm not fan of The Delicious Tomato Song

Does your music preferences change depending on your mood? If so, how?: Well, yes. Sometimes I feel really energetic and I prefer to listen to some rock. Sometimes I'm on a reflective mood and I'd rather listen to Chopin or something similar.
Do the lyrics have to make a lot of sense, or is that not as important as long as a song has a good beat and rhythm?: The lyrics are of vital importance to me, except in classical pieces.
If you were in a band... what instrument or role would you play? (If you don't play an instrument/role, what would you like to do?): In a modern band, I think I'd sing or play the bass. If I were in a more classical band, I think I'd play the violin.
