There's been an influx of new people in the community - or at least some of the quieter people have started posting - so I think it's time for a reminder about community rules.
(
The rules can be found in the community's profile, both in Filipino and English, but they're under the cut as well for easier access. )

Buod/Preview:
The rule starts out by translating from Tagalog to English. There's no problem in the use of the slash in this context. Then we get to the part about Buod/Preview. Again, there's really no problem in the use of the slash. However, it becomes confusing to the first-time reader because rather than translating from Tagalog to English the rule is now telling the poster to choose between two separate actions: To summarize or to put up an image preview. I can't think of a Tagalog translation for the English word "preview" so I can see why it's been left out the way it was. But this is an abrupt break from what the rule is initially asking the poster to do. And this is where the confusion really sets in because there's no consistency in what the rule wants the poster to do (Summarize? Put a preview? Do the Macarena?), so wouldn't it be easier to understand if the word "or" is written out between buod and preview and enclose the the translations in brackets or parentheses for further clarification?
I'm not saying that there's something wrong about the way the slashes are used, because they're all correct in their contexts. But the rule about buod/preview becomes an exception in and of itself because it's suddenly telling the poster to choose and do two separate things for two different fanworks.
