Title: Theatric Smiles
Author: Vintage Handle
Character(s) or Pairing(s): Juan aka Male!Piri. Cameo courtesy of Alfred aka America. Mentions of other historical figures (possibly one is inaccurate. Curse my bad memory of that portion)
Rating: T because I'm paranoid
Warnings: badly written stuff, a possible overused plot, mentions of violence and bloodshed, mentions of WWII killings, Corazon Aquino's time as leader, Mount Pinatubo eruption, Typhoon Ondoy and subjective (?) views. Your beliefs may clash with mine.
Summary: Juan is a happy man, always smiling. His history isn't as glad.
Preview:
The other Nations praise him for toppling the dictator. They admire him and he admires her. She is a good and well-meaning woman.
Everyone loves her.
But everyone is not happy.
He is accustomed to the flickering of lights. On and off. On and off, they go. The span of the on from the off differs from time to time. But it is all right. He is happy there is democracy. He is happy for his people.
But then the volcano erupts and the provinces are overflowing with soot and ash. The ash rains down on the citizens like merry gray snow.
He is burned, but it is neither hot nor cold.
( He wonders if she was too good a person to become a good president. The thought lingers only for a moment, but he then shoves it away )
