Title: The Princess and Her Uncle
Segment/Part: 4b of 10
Segment Title: Alliance and Adversary
Rating: T
Characters: In this segment, we have the three princes, our lovely princess, her temporary knight, the count friend, the creepy Arsuian prince, and the Arsuian's equally creepy sister [who actually only made a cameo.] BONUS: someone "new" is here. Hint? Look at the tags.
Summary: After being commanded by King Antonio, Prince Lovino takes his lover’s daughter, Princess “Clarita,” to safety, and lets his brother, Prince Feliciano, take care of the girl. However, many strange occurrences start to happen, the council, along with the brothers and their other brother Francis, begin to suspect and accuse Clarita of being a witch. Yet as bonds begin to form, Feliciano must decide against keeping their dignity and secrets inside the palace, and letting Clarita live and the dark truth their families have kept for ages, be revealed.
Pairings: For this segment, there's almost one-sided Ivan X Maria, obvious Alfred X Maria and "The New Guy" X Maria. And there's also a hinted pairing at the end, which involves best friends.
Warnings: Royalty and kingdoms, OOCness, segments/parts with titles, ridiculousness, self hate, curse(?) words, semi-own-POV-I-dont-even

“Oh, my.”
She looked up, and saw a strange figure she had seen standing by the door - he had green eyes, and at first, he looked like a human, but at a closer look, he had longer ears than usual, which was also pointed, and his arms and chest were very hairy. His eyebrows - oh, dear, look at them! - were thick. Add to that, he was only clad in torn pants and a torn cloak. He’s even more hairy, and somehow more intimidating than Uncle Francis, but…but…
She reached her hand out to him.
I like him.

Silence…what sweet serenity…
“-ria! Please, please wake up!”
“She’s awake already, da.”
“Oh, mi Dio, grazie, grazie.”
“Are you alright, Fraulein Maria?”
“Hmp. About time.”
“Maria, est tu bien?”
Upon opening her eyes, the girl saw not only the boy she had invited, but also her three uncles, her other childhood friend, and her dearest uncle’s best friend around her. If I were her, I would scream for help, for six men are gathered around. However, she had a brave soul, and an innocent mind.
“…eh…? W-what…?” she tried to comprehend what was happening, and what had happened.
“You fainted suddenly, Maria,” Alfred explained.
“Your friend had to call for help,” Lovino scoffed, “He really doesn’t know any of this, does he?”
The princess frowned at the statement, “I haven’t had a clue what just happened when I wake up, I don’t even know where I am, and the least thing you could do is explain to me why all of you are required to be by my side when I wake up. And now you scold me for something I didn’t do.”
Ivan sighed, as he signaled for Lovino to not attack or anything, “On behalf of them, I apologize. Sirs, please.”
They drew away, except for Alfred and the Arsuian king, of course. Maria tried to sit up.
“So…I’m in a room, and it’s nighttime,” she observed.
“Yes,” the energetic blond said, “Since your uncle here told me that you don’t want anyone to enter your room unless they’re servants, we brought you in a separate bedroom. And uh…you really slept for a long time. It’s almost time for dinner, I suppose.”
“And for once, I thanked him,” the Arsuian added, “Slipping from the party isn’t good for us nobles, you know. They might suspect you of having a lover.”
Alfred and Maria looked at him.
“…well, I suppose he’s right,” Feliciano thought out loud.
The lass only looked away, and frowned, “It’s not my fault I’m like this, you know.”
Francis shook his head, “A voice told you?”
“No. I sense it.”
Ludwig raised an eyebrow at this. The men by her side looked at her. The brothers were silent. I knew it.
“But…when time comes…I’ll tell you everything myself.”
“…are you hiding something else from us?” Feliciano questioned; his heart a little heavy and his mind clouded with suspicion and worry.
And of course, how could Maria answer such an inquiry from the person she cared for and trusted in the most? He had taken care of her since childhood, but, it this the way she would pay her being indebted to him? However, she herself could not explain why this was happening to her. Unless…
The princess deeply sighed, “You heard me, Uncle. Now…if you please…leave me? Just…for now?”
The males hesitated.
“I’ll be fine here. Nothing’s gonna happen…ah, what happened to the guests?”
Ivan responded, “We already took care of them.”
“Brilliant! Now please, let me think about this. Let me rest properly. I feel…” she paused to yawn, “Tired.”
No matter how reluctant, they had to respect Maria’s decision. They all left her, and Alfred was the last to exit the room.
“…I don’t think anyone of us will be living a normal life if this continues,” he said, “Honest.”
The Arsuian agreed, “And once again, you’re correct...pig.”
“Why you sick fu-”
Thankfully, the eldest Lytian prince did not let them insult each other anymore, for he reminded, “Do you plan to stay here, King Ivan? And you, mercenary, what of your duties? If what you say is true, we should try to live as ‘normally’ as we can, then.”
The Rafiancan native merely stared at them, and excused himself from them.
“Oh…he’s annoyed, da?” the king chuckled, “Oh, yes, I am. I want to…reaffirm our alliances, and…I have a couple more things I need to clarify about our treaty. Today would not be the most perfect for that, I believe.”
“Wisely spoken,” Lovino nodded, “Well then, you potat - er, Count, please tell the servants for us.”
“I’ll come with him. They may think he’s bossing them around,” Feliciano suggested.
“Do so, then.”
“Grazie, Fratello.”
The pair went on their way.
“Well then, King Ivan, we shall entertain you first,” Francis smiled, “Please follow us. Let us go, Lovino.”
“Where do you plan on taking him?” whispered the younger prince of the two.
“Just…just trust moi, mon coeur.”
“Don’t relate me with anyone you love, stronzo.”
“Oh, my mistake. I have been used to calling people like that.”
And so, the room and hall was completely deserted, except for Maria, who had been contemplating. She was guilty in making them pace again and again in fear; in bringing them sleepless nights, if ever. Yet, she still feared for the worst - that…that same voice which terrorized us! - she felt that it would only bring them sorrow and...and…
I like him.
“You…are…a…Arthur,” she half-whispered, almost as if he had truly taken her breath away, and she had known him for a long time, “You are such a lovely creature.”
And it seemed that the stranger listened to his instinct, for he took her hand with no hesitations and kissed it. He said, “My Lady and princess. Your Graciousness Maria, I am honored.”
His hand is calloused…perhaps even scarred. This hand must have met so many adventures in its life.
“You…” she grinned, “Are my knight.”
Smiles graced upon their lips. Their eyes locked for what seemed an eternity.
“Correct, my Lady.”
“Where are you from?”
“I am a native from Rafianc. I have been cursed to this form. I am branded, the ‘Golden Werewolf’ of that land - a prize for many hunters and nobles.”
“You are a most fortunate man, Arthur of Rafianc.”
“You have my gratitude.”
However, something dawned to them. They were still complete foreigners to each other. In the first place, how did they know each other’s names?
“Oh, your Highness, I…I…” Arthur quickly rushed to the door.
“Wait! Please, tell me more. Accompany me!” Maria almost begged.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t bother you.”
“Arthur!”
Did his ears just perk?
“…yes, your Highness,” he pouted in defeat, and returned to her side. Now that’s just cute.
“Great! Please tell me of what you know! My life is very uneventful.”
“I do not believe you, princess.”
“Oh, yes it is. Come on…just…just for this night? And…can you please tell my uncles I am to spend the night here?”
The creature blushed, “I came here to retire for the night…this is my room.”
“Oh, my, I’m so sorry!”
“Oh, no, no…it won’t bother me.”
“Really?”
“Yes. Yes.”
“Now that is wonderful! Now, I want to hear your story, and the tales which have reached those peculiar ears of yours.”
And to emphasize it, she reached those ears and let her hands slip on his reddened cheeks.
“You amuse me.”
“Erm…should I take that as a complement?”
“I want to call you Art.”
“Oh. Um…that’s…”
“If ever I’m in trouble, please save me, and please be there for me in times of my troubles.”
“I will be, since-”
“A story now, okay?”
She’s not listening…and how casual she talks! She must be feeling so safe in my presence. I am very, very happy.
His cloak started moving as a wide smile made its way on his face.
“…would that be your tail?” the princess asked in curiosity.
And of course, it lead to their long discussion. They shared their happiest moments, their most extraordinary experiences, and their memorable points in their lives. They had enjoyed the company of each other, as if their souls were bound to understand each other’s message without any words or gestures. A match made in heaven? I wouldn’t agree less.
But then, this fateful meeting was the start of everything, for outside the room, a tall man frowned. His icy violet eyes went ablaze, and yet, he smiled so childishly.
“Another rival, huh…this more interesting than I had thought it would be.”
For sure, the pair inside would sense his presence. Arthur guessed it was a visitor of theirs, while Maria told him that the man must be her friend. Their hearts pounded in fear. Who was that in there?
“Dare I open the door, my Lady?” the werewolf asked.
“…no. I wouldn’t want to ruin my night,” she replied.
So it happened. Outside, however, was a pair who had the emotion opposite theirs.
“King Ivan, the room is ready,” Feliciano said.
“Thank you, your Highness,” chuckled the Arsuian, which made Ludwig raise an eyebrow, “And please, keep everyone suspicious out of this silly game, would you?”
“…of course.”
They made their own ways. When the older of the two was sure that they were in a safe part of the hallways, he told his friend, “…but if I seriously did so, I’d kick him out of here with my own boots.”
“Your sense of humor isn’t good.”
“I was trying to be sarcastic, Lu.”
“Sorry. By the way, I know that you want to tell me something, but you’ve been quiet. Your verbal ticks have vanished as well. Go on. I will listen.”
The taller man embraced the prince, who hugged back.
“Lovino…he’s involved in this…as I am.”
“Are you scared?”
“Terribly,” Feliciano paused to sigh, “I want to tell Maria…but…they’ll be both angry. You know, right?”
Ludwig simply nodded as he caressed the Lytian’s back.
“Antonio and Lovino…they…I have allowed them to commit their crimes. I let her be held by his hard hands. I…I…this is my entire fault in the first place!”
Tears held him from saying more.
“Hush…hush…”
“I…this…I should’ve accepted their offers!”
“You didn’t see it coming, Felici.”
“Comfort me…”
Ludwig’s eyes widened. He’s kidding me…oh, right. He gripped tighter. I must be out of my mind if that’s what I’m thinking…
“Es tut mir leid, Felici. I can’t help you with the matter…but what I can do for now is watch over that child. So, you, be a good prince to the kingdom and a nice uncle to her. I don’t want any complaints from you.”
“Grazie…grazie…grazie. Ti…ti voglio bene, Lu.”
“Hmp. Just doing my job.”
“Ahahaha! Let’s go and eat our dinner, ve!”
Too bad I can’t do something else to keep that smile plastered on his face.
“Eh? Lu?”
Es tut mir leid, es tut mir leid, Feliciano. Ich hab dich lieb.
“W-what’s the kiss for, ve? D-don’t scare me like that, you know. Are you…?”
“We’re friends, right? You always do this to me…before.”
“Oh, ehehe…right.”
I wish he had seen through it, veh…
I’m sorry, Uncle. Your wish is in vain.
That voice again. Feliciano stopped walking.
“Something the matter?” asked the Amanelian.
“…no, nothing…”
The war is happening.

HA. I officially wrote an implied GerIta. How screwed up should this fic be, with Spamano, USPiri, AmePiri, RusPiri, and the new ‘couples?’ Oh, ask the noblemen. Their love lives were more complicated than this.
And then, we have a revelation : not only Lovino, but also Feli is involved in this 'game.' I leave interpretation to you, readers.
I'm also making a Powerpoint guide to this, which also reveals what I was thinking, and what actually urged me to do this. To tell you the truth, the ending is done, and I've written several scenes for Segments 6, 7 and 8. Yes. I'm almost done.
When I was writing this, starting with the scene in which Maria had been left alone, I was listening to Moments of Love, Gypsy, She-Wolf, Fergalicious, Monster, I Got a Feeling, and Pokerface. What the hell.
Speaking of which, Moments of Love is Germany and Italy's theme song. Don't believe me? I don't think Lucky will suit them. Moments of Love is much much much sweeter.
Anyway...translation time!
Da - Yes; Russian
Fraulein - Miss; used for girls below 18(?); German
Mi Dio - My God, Italian [if this is wrong, I'm sorry]
Grazie - Thank you; Italian
Es tu bien? - Are you okay?; French [I know there's something wrong with this.]
Fratello - Big brother; Italian
Moi - Me; French
Mon coeur - My dear(?); French
Es tut mir leid - I'm sorry; German
Ich hab dich lieb - I love you; formal use of "you," I guess; German
Did I miss something??
And the deal with the correct guess for Piri's mommeh is still open. Think about it! Analyze carefully~ I've left several clues already.
Questions? Comments? Suggestions? Violent reactions?
Thanks for reading, guys!
But wait! There's more!
Title: 'Di Na Tayo SMP (We're no longer SMP)
Characters/Pairing: PruPiri, Spain, and France
Summary: Oneshot / drabble. Gilbert and Maria are supposed to celebrate another cold Valentine's Day. But then, things turned.
Rating: T to be safe
Warning: This is corny.
This is only true for this fic:
----
Lonely red eyes grudgingly observed the couples on the dance floor. Why did he agree to have everyone meet at a bar for Valentine's? He quite forgot.
"Gilbert," a deep yet feminine voice snapped him out of his thoughts, "Don't you worry, we're in the same boat."
The albino-esque man looked at her with a frown, and mumbled, "Maria Clara."
"Yup, Gil! We are both spending a cold Valentine's!" she smiled.
"Can it be...'Single Awareness Day' instead?" Gilbert sighed.
Maria stood up, downed on her beer, and settled closer to the German.
"No way," Maria smirked, "Care to dance?"
Without a thought, the man said, "If you agree that I become your boyfriend...sure."
"Sure."
Gilbert's eyes widely opened.
"Eh?!" his jaw dropped.
"You heard it right! Now let's go!"
A flabbergasted yet blushing Gilbert was dragged by an excited Maria onto the dance floor.
--
Antonio couldn't believe it.
Francis couldn't, either.
"That's it?!"
"Yeah. I can't get over it."
"You lucky bastard!!"
Gilbert was then bothered for the whole day with a crying Antonio and a very envious Francis.
----
Super short, ahahahaha...that's it! This is originally written for Valentine's Day. If you don't like this, you can always find another writer. But really, who can be luckier than Lord Gilbert in such a situation? I bet if the others would hear that, especially Belarus, they'd be all green with envy. Perhaps they will also change their opinion on Prussia-sama.
"I don't know what I just said, West. I didn't even expect for her to say 'Yes!' You could also say I was desperate!"
That's all of it! Nothing more! Thanks again for reading!
