Yes. So it's sad- because as you guys have already discussed *points to earlier replies*, we really don't know who to believe anymore. As for the jargon, 'tis fine. We could use to learn to be a little more patriotic by using our own language. Your concept made so much sense.
Some cuts run deeper than we all think. And the powers are indeed being unfair, what with their media calling us the worst place to visit. I don't know how we can retort, because the Philippine GOVERNMENT is at fault, but to drag THE WHOLE NATION is a greater injustice. It is an isolated incident- CNN, no matter how powerful of a press they are, DOES NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE GENERALIZATIONS ABOUT THE PHILIPPINES RIGHT AWAY. It's like them against Iraq all over again, but in a different situation and light.
In a sense, I feel betrayed. The US "helped" us free ourselves from invaders and to "grow up" - but to label us suddenly like enemies? That is an act that is condemnable in so many ways, but since they ARE a world power, it's hard to retort back. I just hope that their info people could start by BEING EVEN MORE FAIR to other nations, since it's ironic that they're Press from 'the land of the free'. Freedom of expression and speech has some boundaries, too- most especially if you are attacking a whole race. It's just pure (sorry for the words) fucking bullshit that they're spouting. I wonder if they considered MOST of the factors involved in the incident, and not only a perspective or two?
And as always, XD win!art! Oh yeah- is that a literal scar on HK's face? (ORZ, just asked nao)
I agree with what you say about generalizations. It's sad that they treat an isolated case this way. Really tragic for both parties, I must say. That labeling with CNN was bull. But I don't believe everybody in the US thinks we're really that dangerous of a country. Like them, we may be generalizing CNN's writers' points-of-view. We can't help it if that's what they think; but we can show them that this will not last forever. We will learn from this and become better.
LOL tl;dr XDDD And yeah, that's a scar on HK's face :D I thought nobody noticed ;D
