Hetalia Typhoon Relief

Sep 27, 2009 22:52

Due to the discussions between me and estudyante01, I've decided to post this (provided that it’s okay, considering the circumstances).  I don’t know about you, but Ondoy’s left me feeling nauseated.  If we ever manage to get out of our flood-choked homes, or if anyone’s lucky enough not to be trapped in during the suspension of classes, then may I direct you to the following sites for some information on relief programs:

ONDOY, YOU F***ING ASSHOLE

These are, admittedly, Tumblr blogs, but that’s one of the fastest ways to get information around.  Also, a bit of my own info, culled from various forwarded messages by my schoolmates (for I am a proud LaSallian and would help if I am not also trapped in this damned safe little home of mine):

MOBILIZE EVERY LASALLIAN:  Relief Operation Areas DLSU sc:

>ABS-CBN Foundation, 13 Examiner St., Q.C., 10AM onwards.  Look for Sir Joey or DLSU contact person Milli (09238920471)

>LSGH 9AM (GATE 2) for help in manpower, donations by 7AM

>Cubao, Expo Center.  EDSA cor. Gen. McArthur, Araneta Center, look for Omi:  09174623048

>DLSU grounds, open already for accepting relief drive tomorrow, just say to guard, “COSCA office.”

GK Advisory:  To all GK bayanis out there, we need YOU:  donate clothes, food & medicine or VOLUNTEER yourself for the relief operations on affected GK areas @ Quezon City & Rizal.  See you Ateneo Cervini Hall or contact Coach Hipol (09178888596)

Also, there has been rather disturbing news about an impending typhoon in the next few days.  See here for more information.

As an aside, I’m thinking about doing some sort of outreach program, maybe at the next animé convention, to solicit help and money for the victims.  We could tie-up with another organization, like Bantay Bata or somesuch?  This is still a tentative idea...so what do you think?
