Original Request: How did the Nation-tans KNOW they were nations? I refuse to believe that they ever had any sort of inherent knowledge of what they were.
Maybe some sort of mythical creature or an older Nation told them? Dunno. Maybe some sort of god or goddess might also be reasonable...
So. Any country, with the exception of "younger" countries such as Sealand, America, Canada, etc.
Anon wants fic exploring the childhood of a nation who first goes along believing they're human like everyone else, only to be informed that no, they are NOT.
Bonus: They at first believe that they are some other kind of mythical/immortal creature.
Bonus 2: Regular humans are exposed to little details like these young men and women never aging, or being impervious to serious physical harm or death.
Summary: The line between dreaming and waking is deep.
